This place doesnít get talked about enough. It is a GREAT beer bar, but more than that, it is simply a great bar. Yes it is smoky, at least until the law changes later in 2008. But they have a wonderful beer garden in the back, the food is above average, and the selection is always interesting and varied. Thereís something about the Moon & 6 that everyone, including breweries, likes. For this reason it seems like they often get special rare kegs that other places donít. Their bottle list is also impressive and should not be overlooked. Definitely on the must-stop list in Portland.

I rather enjoyed the Moon in itís earlier incarnation, i.e. 7 or so years ago. It seems as though the food quality has gone down a bit and I rather wonder if the beer lines get cleaned as often as they should be cleaned! It also seems as though the beer/ale selection used to be more varied. Still, the Brit fare is good comfort food, thereís always some good, solid brews and I can almost always get access to a dart board.

Comfortable warm and snug pub. This place looked wonderful. Selection was fairly good, more on the bottles than the draught, but some interesting draught biers. Food was delicious, but inadequate in quantity, four small pieces of potato, four small pieces of carrot. Service was slow and friendly. Prices not excessive. No off street parking

I liked everything about this place, but we did not get good service. The beef pasty I had was delicious. A keg of í08 Black Butte XX was on, and nice British, old time pub aesthetic. We sat at our table with empty beer glasses and plates for about a half an hour before I got up and asked the bartender for the bill. We were gonna order another round and some bread pudding but once our food was served our waitress was no where to be found.

I have had the pleasure of visiting this charming pub with my good friends Leems and Kathy on many occasions over the last few years, and I must say that it never fails to be a grand old time. For me the highlight is more the food than the beer, though the taplist is always solid, it just usually lacks in things I havenít had at this point in my life. The bottled beer selection is solid too, I have enjoyed such things as Ommegang Three Philosophers and the Traquair Jacobite and House Ales there in relatively reasonably priced bottles. The service is universally outstanding, though itís probably helpful in that regard to have friends who frequent the place. I highly recommend the welsh rarebit and cornish pasty that Leems recommended but will raise him the tasty fish and chips and chicken dinner as well. In fact, I have never had a bad meal here and the only Portland pub food I enjoy more is the scotch egg at Horse Brass. The Moon and Sixpence is an awesome little pub the likes of which I wish we had down here

The Moon is my neighborhood pub, and I love it here. The tap list usually has at least 2 things I love or havenít had and want to try and the bottle list is always available if Iím not in the mood for whatís on tap. Service is outstanding, the same 3 waitresses and 2 bartenders have been there as long as I can remember, and are always friendly, knowledgeable and most importantly quick to bring a beer. The food is English Pub standards but executed very well, try the cornish pasty or welsh rarebit, delicious! The patio is great in the summer though I havenít visited it since they built a new awning to allow smoking year round (new law in OR). I am not there as often anymore since I like to smoke a stogie as I sip a beer but The Moon will always hold a place in my heart and hasnít changed other than being less smokey for years.

Nice place, nice selection of bottles and tap beers. Menu is limited but food was always decent. I have always had good service. Neighborhood bar feel.

A great little pub with a good selection of some harder to find brews. They have live music, no stage, just in the middle of the pub. Nice low key place with good brews.

This is a great British style pub. Smokey as can be. Wonderful selection of taps. Terminal Gravity always on tap!! Selection of bottled beer also. Darts in the back of the pub. Small patio out back. Service is great. You really should go there.
