Popped in to this brewpub during an unusually warm November day in Savannah. I sat at the bar, since I didnít plan on eating and really only wanted to sample the brews. I tried some samples and ended up ordering a special bourbon barrel aged version of their seasonal Oud Brune. This beer was excellent. My father ordered the Captainís Porter, which was also very good. As for the other beers, they were average or less. One thing I did not like was the presentation of the sweet potato ale. The beer itself is ok, but they serve it in a glass rimmed with sugar and spices. I did not like this with the beer. The service was good, plus it was not very crowded in the middle of the afternoon, so we had the barmaid pretty much to ourselves. Was a little surprised at her lack of knowledge considering she is the bar tender of a brewpub, but still much better than the typical chain restaurant waiter. Overall a good experience.

Visited for lunch on 7/8/14. Iím probably this kind of placeís worst nightmare, a beer snob with my wife and two kids under 6 years old in tow! Place was fairly crowded but we were seated almost immediately. Waitress was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the The Bomb Dry Irish Stout to start off. My beer was brought out promptly, as well as waters for the kids and my wife. The beer was one of the best Irish Stouts I have ever had! We ordered lunch, which took about 20 minutes. My burger was huge and quite delicious. My wife doesnít remember exactly what she ordered (this was a few weeks ago), but remembered thinking it was very good. Kids had chicken fingers with veggies. Chicken finger portions were generous and the veggies, (broccoli and carrots, I believe), were fresh tasting and also a generous portion. Before I finished my Irish Stout, the waitress was there to see if I needed another. I opted for the Lunar Lander IPA, which was a very solid IPA. Yelp gave me a $3 off coupon for checking in. While showing the coupon to our waitress my 5 years old daughter asked if she could have a pickle, which then prompted my 2 year old son to ask for one as well. The waitress was super friendly and was able to take my coupon and bring both kids pickle spears, which made them very happy. Great service, great food, and most importantly great beer! I could have spent all day here. I will definitely be back next time I am in Savannah!

Of course the ambiance is great - itís Savannah! Beer was a little disappointing, as was the knowledge of our server. Food was creole hot, but tasty. (Hard to rate beer, though, when your mouth is a little numb). A decent place in an expensive city.

The best brewpub in Savannah. Being the only brewpub in the city and its location on the touristy riverfront, I was a little worried about its quality, but it actually turned out to be a great place. It has a gorgeous outdoor patio and bar (the bar does have a roof) which is great in the warm weather. They had about 8 house taps (tasty beers including. 3 IPAs, a IIPA, dry stout, Belgian pale ale, and a couple others) and they also had 5-6 guest taps (nothing too exciting). The beers were better than I expected. I didnít have any food, nor did most patrons, so Iím not sure of its quality. Overall, not a spot to be missed- the beer is great and itís Savannahís only brewpub!

Bit of a tourist trap on the street for that in Downtown. Inside is dark, a little cramped, and didnít smell great. The bar is right at the front door and feels like itís in the way. Luckily there is an outdoor patio that looks like a nice spot when the weather is nice. Beer wasnít amazing, but much better than the ratings had me expecting. You can get a solid enjoyable pint or two easily. Worth a stop if youíre in Savannah.

I always stop in here while visiting Savannah. This is another place right near the main heart of the historic district and basically across the street from the riverwalk area, so itís a good place to stop in for a to-go beer since there are no open container laws in the historic district. I usually hang at the outside bar, but the inside restaurant part is a little nice. The outside bar and biergarten has a more chill hang feel to it, and they will project big sports events and movies, etc. on the big wall outside. Last visit they had the World Series on.
The service is usually prompt and friendly and they can tell you about their beers.
Good selection - usually lots of their own beers on tap outside, almost always a new one or two, and a few guest taps that are often local or high-quality brews.
I have not eaten while there, actually.
Average to slightly high prices for the brews.
Overall, itís a good stop while youíre in town. Because of the location and the fact that they have pretty decent beers and usually something new, Iíll be stopping by every time Iím in town.

We stopped in here for a beer, but we just sat in the biergarten, and didnít venture inside. It was nice, well laid out, and inviting. The bartender was curt, but efficient. The house beers are well priced. This is a fun, conveniently located, and interesting brewpub. Would be fun to check it out more fully.

Might be the second worst brewpub Iíve ever been to. Terrible service, mediocre at best beers and no wifi.

We visited numerous times on our holiday o Savannah. Moon River is nowadays split into two. The main part is a large traditional building which houses the brewpub and restaurant. This part serves only Moon River beers (7 of them on my visit) and pretty tasty food. I believe house beers have improved significantly with the new brewer. The focus is on session beers appropriate for the Georgia climate. The second half is the brand new patio bar area, which is much more modern in appearance. Here they have not only Moon River but a very solid selection of guest beers on tap. Stone, Southbound, Highland and plenty of New Belgium (6 on my visit!). Great all-round.

(Visited 01/2013): Moon River Brewing Company is in downtown Savannah on West Bay right by the river in the historic district. Street parking is available in the surrounding streets, and there are a couple garages in walking distance.
The interior features a large segmented room with the wraparound bar immediately past the host stand in the center. There is table and booth seating on the right, and more in the rear. The brewing equipment is behind glass along the left wall. Funky artwork on the walls, and some merch in the rear.
Moon River has around 10 of their beers on tap, and they offer a moon-shaped sampler. The beers are decent for the most part and include a lot of common styles plus a couple interesting brews like Jasmine Saison and OMG (Oh My Grapefruit) on my visit.
Service on our slow lunch visit was good. The server was knowledgeable about the beers and friendly.
Food at Moon River is pretty good, both my colleague and I enjoyed our lunch.
Overall this is a nice spot in a great town.

Stopped in while on vacation- it was a Saturday and the place was packed- the vibe was like a busy Applebeeís or something even though the artwork on the walls was trying for something better. Service was fine but unenthusiastic (again, packed, and there were lots of screaming kids in our section). We got the array in a sampler- which we enjoyed. My husbands food was really good, mine was kind of blah. Prices seemed decent.
