Popped in to this brewpub during an unusually warm November day in Savannah. I sat at the bar, since I didnít plan on eating and really only wanted to sample the brews. I tried some samples and ended up ordering a special bourbon barrel aged version of their seasonal Oud Brune. This beer was excellent. My father ordered the Captainís Porter, which was also very good. As for the other beers, they were average or less. One thing I did not like was the presentation of the sweet potato ale. The beer itself is ok, but they serve it in a glass rimmed with sugar and spices. I did not like this with the beer. The service was good, plus it was not very crowded in the middle of the afternoon, so we had the barmaid pretty much to ourselves. Was a little surprised at her lack of knowledge considering she is the bar tender of a brewpub, but still much better than the typical chain restaurant waiter. Overall a good experience.

Theydon_bros and I stopped in to get a Georgia state place tick (since my Atlanta airport place tick is only borderline counts). Stopped in early, shortly after opening and were just about the only customers in the place. Sitting at the bar you canít see much of the restaurant the way itís laid out. The brewery was off to the one side and the tables and the bathrooms were on the other side.

They had about 10 taps or so, most of which were meh. I think the honey habanero cask might have been the best of the bunch. The server was friendly enough and the prices werenít bad but the beer isnít really worth making the trip for.

Now, what is worth making the trip for is the city of Savannah. Each block has a small park in the middle, so driving through that area is tough but there are tons of statues and other non-beer(degenerate) things to look at. I wouldnít mind spending a day or two in this area to get a little bit of culture. Iíd probably find a different brewery to drink at though.

Moon River has two sections - a large pub-like diner serving their own beers and a separate bar with twelve guest beers adjacent to a nice outdoor area and shady patio. We had a flight of seven beers which were passable, if not spectacular. (Visited 19 February 2014).

In a very historic and pleasant part of town, this large bar with lots of seating has both locals and tourists alike. Service was very good and helpful, let us sample a ton. Taster flights available for their stuff, but not guest taps. Didnít eat and prices were OK. A nice stop if you are around, but local beers and nothing special.

Right in the tourist part of Savannah. Cool building. Nice brickwork. Wooden bar. Worth a visit.

This place is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Savannah; that said, it seems more tourist trap than quality brewpub. Beers, food, and service was all mediocre at best. Decent number of beers on tap that covered a variety of styles, but all were underwhelming. The outdoor beer garden was pretty nice, especially for warm-weather days. Probably worth 1 visit if you want to net 12 or so ratings, but youíll likely have no desire to come back.

Visited for lunch on 7/8/14. Iím probably this kind of placeís worst nightmare, a beer snob with my wife and two kids under 6 years old in tow! Place was fairly crowded but we were seated almost immediately. Waitress was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the The Bomb Dry Irish Stout to start off. My beer was brought out promptly, as well as waters for the kids and my wife. The beer was one of the best Irish Stouts I have ever had! We ordered lunch, which took about 20 minutes. My burger was huge and quite delicious. My wife doesnít remember exactly what she ordered (this was a few weeks ago), but remembered thinking it was very good. Kids had chicken fingers with veggies. Chicken finger portions were generous and the veggies, (broccoli and carrots, I believe), were fresh tasting and also a generous portion. Before I finished my Irish Stout, the waitress was there to see if I needed another. I opted for the Lunar Lander IPA, which was a very solid IPA. Yelp gave me a $3 off coupon for checking in. While showing the coupon to our waitress my 5 years old daughter asked if she could have a pickle, which then prompted my 2 year old son to ask for one as well. The waitress was super friendly and was able to take my coupon and bring both kids pickle spears, which made them very happy. Great service, great food, and most importantly great beer! I could have spent all day here. I will definitely be back next time I am in Savannah!
