Pretty large and cavernous Spoons, choice seemed fairly poor and had few ales available (including one of my pet peeves of keeping pumpclips on for dead beers to pretend you have more selection). Far better local choices.

Wolves first Spoons, located on Lichfield Street which you walk past on the direct route from the railway sation to the town cetnre. Typical dark and dingy Spoons, natural light to the front, longer than it is wide. Never the best range of guest beers here but the beer quality is usually fine. One to visit on a quiet moment and get a quick tick, otherwise skip !

An older (and it shows) Wetherspoon pub, but large enough for the high numbers that it entertains, especially on a match day given that Wolverhampton Wanderers are also situated in the city centre. The bar is central and has three sides offering a wide selection of real ales and the rest. Itís also handy for the rail and bus stations which are just a stone throw away, but as there are plenty of pubs near by a few others could say the same.

Itís a Wetherspoons, no better or worse than any others. Not sure why it is included here.

Bog standard Spoons: been here a long time and getting a bit grubby around the edges. Formally a huge Co-Op. Beer selection (Real Ale wise) has never impressed me, staff often have though. Usual format of Spoons layout, sometimes heaving with humanity but can be surprisingly quiet at times too. My last visit on a Saturday afternoon (6th Oct 2012) found the place only a quarter full, Wolves playing away might have had an influence? Not a favourite Spoons of mine. Food is OK, again the normal fare but comes quicker than most Spoons Iíve eaten in.

Not one of my favourite JDWs. They have a large selection of real ales but they seem to have fewer microbreweries on the pumps than other JDWs, More larger breweries instead.
