A nice place. Definitely contemporary style. About 4 TVs that have a variety of sports on. The food is small, appetizer size, with a couple of large meal-ish plates. For the neighborhood, it is well priced. I had two pork skewers in a soy sauce marinade for $4. Very attentive staff. It looks like they have room for four of their sakes on tap eventually and a decent selection of local beers.

Took me a long time to finally visit. Sat on the rooftop on a nice summer evening. As I imagine is typical, the rooftop deck was very busy. The servers struggled to keep up and we had long wait times to get drinks and food, without much in the way of apology or acknowledgement. Between the excellent, house made sake and their only serving locally brewed craft beer, this is a worth stop for the craft beer lover. I see that most others have had better service experiences, so perhaps my poor experience was the exception.

Never been to a sake brewery before so this was neat. Didn’t eat but the menu looked excellent. Both bartenders gave great service. Nice place. Lots of angles so its bigger than it looks. Comfortable bar with a bunch of TVs, some showing Japanese TV which was cool... and also insane. Sake flight was informative and the sakes were good. Overall a nice stop, a must stop because its a bit unusual in the US.

Visited with jackl and evanlarkin. Shiny modern place, more American style than Japanese. Central bar is dominant, tables all around. Rooftop bar sadly closed when we visited. The highlight, of course, was the sake - they had six, available one by one or in flights of three, very generous portions. Staff were very knowledgable and made helpful recommendations. Tasty stuff too. Decent food as well. Nice start to the day.

Homemade sake on tap with a sizable list of Minnesota-only draft beers. Fusion-y Japanese food that is generally very well done, with excellent specials during happy hour. One of the best rooftop patios in Minneapolis. Order the fried rice during happy hour and throw the bar peanuts they give you on there, it’s great.

A very unique place that brews their own sake in Uptown. A pretty traditional bar with dark wood and another dining room with a similar feel. Server was very knowledgeable about the Sake which was helpful because I am not that knowledgeable. 6 sakes on tap (that are available in a sampler) plus about 15 beers on tap compliments some solid ramen. Price was average but really enjoyed the uniqueness of the place!

Very cool spot. It’s a Japanese restaurant that happens to brew sake in house. The decor is sumo themed and replays of old sumo tournaments were playing on the TVs at the bar. For the less adventurous, beer’s also available on draft. There’s maybe 15 beers on tap, including stuff from Surly etc. As for the sake, there were 6 available on tap covering a range of styles. I know next to nothing about sake, but I enjoyed most things I tried in my flight (3 sizeable pours for $10). My bartender seemed pretty knowledgeable and was quite generous in offering free samples. Overall, I thought this was a fun experience. Moto-I offers a nice introduction to sake in a comfortable, inclusive setting.

Stopped on a Tuesday night, not astoundingly busy and seat yourself type service, server was friendly but brief offering very little insight into the sake they make, food was good, the steamed buns were tasty and the noodle bowl was good but difficult to eat for a westerner with chopsticks. Sake is cool to see come from a tap, and had a wide range of flavors, down to $10 a flight, and parking was no problem found a street 2 blocks away. touch on the high side for pricing but would definitely come back to try more sake.

Cool place, but you go here for the sake. Turns out I’ve been drinking bad sake my whole life, so thanks to this place I’ve seen the light. All MN beers on the tap list. Cool food. Hipster. Annoyance of uptown parking.

Cool atmosphere...even had japanese tv on. It gets high marks for being what it is. A sake brewpub. Pretty cool. They didn’t have a lot of their sakes on tap when we were their, but the sampler flight I had was good, and the bartender was very helpful. The japanese street food was excellent as well.

This concept (a sake brewpub with Japanese street food) is excellent and they pull if off. Cool vibe, excellent food, and quality sakes. Plus, if you’re not into sake they have a decent selection of draft beer. Overall a must visit in Minneapolis.
