This place is now closed. They had a cool selection of beers all named after the presidents on Mt. Rushmore. I knew a lady who owned it, she said it used to be a morgue in the old days and that it was haunted by a ghost of a cowboy.

Just a heads up to anyone visiting - we went through Hill City on vacation last week and the brewery is closed. The location is now a Harley Davidson dealership. We visited in 2003 and the food was very good. I unfortunately donít remember which beer I had, but the place was definitely worth the visit. We were disappointed to find it closed.

Visited here in Summer of í03 - surprised to see it in this little town. Had one of its own on tap - Georgeís Summer Ale - but a wide variety of midwestern and western U.S. favorites - not just BMC - good to see. Worth a stop if you are near Mt. Rushmore.

Hill City is a tourist town down the road from Mt Rushmore. I happened to be there on the first day of the Sturgis Bike Rally and the entire town was packed with motorcycles and people. The wait staff seemed a little overwelmed but were working hard. The pub has 3 levels with the brewery located on the 2nd floor. It is a very small one - 2 barrel capacity. I wish I had one of those for the garage. They had 4 of there own beers on tap plus 3 more. They also had a pretty good bottle list of local and regional micro brews. All the beers were clean and well made, but on the light side for me. I guess they have to appeal to the tourists. The food was good bar food with a Western flare. I had the buffalo fajita wrap.
