Strolled in at around 4pm on a Saturday. A couple patrons at the bar sitting. The bartender looks like he just rolled out of bed and came to work after a long night of partying. The beer list was long but not very impressive, I had trouble finding anything that I really wanted to have. Asked about Surly Darkness and he said they didnít have it and not sure if they would get it. Ok, moving on. I settles on Great Lakes Nosferatu as I havenít had one in a while. My girlfriend grabs a Farm Girl. The bar looks old and a little dingy. We end up meeting some friends who have little kids and we move to a back room to get to a more kid friendly area. I would say this is not really a kid friendly bar but hey, they werenít my kids. The waitress was really nice and kept checking up on us. We never ordered any food but it looked and smelled decent. If I were in the area, I would just go to The Happy Gnome, better atmosphere and beers on tap.

Very excellent tap and bottle selection. There is also a wide variety of scotch available. The food is very excellent. Especially the Cuban sandwich and the tortellini. The staff is pretty awesome. Definitely a regular stop

Great St. Paul bar in a great area of town. Only downfall is the service which can be slow due to many patrons and are rushed when they come over so donít have much time to talk about the beers.

Awesome place in St. Paul to try a wide variety of beers. A few rare ones on tap. I also had dinner (a BBQ pork sandwich) and it was excellent. Must see beer bar if youíre visiting the Twin Cities.

I have been here a couple of times. Itís a great place to have a beer and the food is pretty good. Also, I love when they have their "fests" like Belgian Fest, Hop Fest...ect. Pretty awesome. Must stop there.

I had been meaning to visit this place for awhile now. After the hunger for a Cuban Sandwich and a great beer, I decided to make it happen. This location is very easy to get to(2 minutes off the freeway) and parking is ample. The restaurant has a somewhat cozy feel to it, and very friendly staff. Great list of brews both on tap and in the bottle. The large chalkboard seems to be kept up to date as well. As far the Cuban Sand, it was awesome!! Overall this is a must stop, go for the food and stay for the beers.

I have been slacking on getting my review submitted, but that doesnít mean that I havenít been thinking about the Muddy Pig since I went there in January. The awesome selection and busy atmosphere is what makes the Muddy Pig so cool. The food is pretty good as well. The only thing that I can really ding the Pig on is the slow wait service or the high beer prices, but the beer prices are easily forgiven because of the abundant number of good beers you can choose from in one sitting. Give it a shot and Iím sure youíll love it.
One recommendation though....bring a designated driver! NO..seriously! After a few of those 9-11% craft beers, youíll be surprisingly well lit.

Great bar. Young-ish crowd. Excellent beer options and nice wrap-around bar. Slightly grungy and a little dark inside, which is cool. A few tvs for those wanting to watch sports. Iíd rather just drink their beer. One of the best bars in St. Paul.

My favorite bar in St. Paul. Tons of taps, always rotating depending on what time of year you come in. 30-40 taps of non-macro beer at all times, plus a solid bottle selection. (Plus they donít have recurring tap problems like Happy Gnome does) Full bar, so they also have wine and booze. Food is solid, typical pub fare but slightly upscale - no fried food. Service is never over bearing but always friendly. Atmosphere is excellent, lots of dark wood with plenty of cozy booths to relax. Good tunes and a friendly, non meat market, non frat boy/girl crowd. This is definitely one of the better bars in St. Paul, whenever I go the annoyance factor is very low. If youíre in St. Paul and want to go to a decent bar, this is the place.
