Small selection of icicle beers along with a German or two. They also had a cider on tap. The food was just ok. Lots of different mustard and a large pot of sauerkraut was the highlight for me.

I was not impressed by this place. Visited in winter, this biergarten bust be less appealing than in the summer, the food is the same that you find in other places, and the beer list is small, now carrying Icicle beers on tap. So I would rather go to Icicle instead.

(Visited 09/2012): München Haus is located in Leavenworth which is about 2 hours east of Seattle. It is at the end of Front Street amidst an idyllic Bavarian village. Street parking and a few lots nearby.

The entrance leads to a walk-up cashier where you place your food order. You then walk by the grilling area and into a beer garden which has covered benches and a small bar under a tent.

The bar has a few taps including local brews from Icicle (I think it may be owned by the same people) and other regional brewers like Alpine. Some bottles in a cooler as well.

Service at München Haus was friendly all around, including the cooks where we picked up our food. The bartender at the beer tent was knowledgeable as well.

As for the food, our brats and kraut were delicious and they had probably a dozen different mustards from which to choose (which are for sale around town).

Overall this is a fun spot to visit with good food and a few solid beer options.

Best to come during one of Leavenworth’s fall festivals. When their hop plants are blooming and they have a live accordian player (no he’s good and not obnoxious or overly loud, he’s off in corner. No, really. It’s okay, you can sit away from the accordian player. Well, if you are going to Leavenworth just deal with it, accordian and oompah music is just unavoidable there). They have a nice selection of different mustards for their brats, along with homemade sourcrout. Some nice micros. I will definately return on future trips to Leavenworth.

Munchen Haus is a pleasant outdoor beer garden that draws you in very easily. My favorite part is the hop vines planted around it. You can get decent pretzels and excellent brats here with a ridiculously large selection of mustards to smother them in. It had a modest tap selection that seemed mostly geared towards lighter micros while I was there. Overall, a great choice while in Leavenworth.

You have been up and down the streets and seen all the shop and smelled all the great food it was time for a drink here at the Muchen Haus in Leavenworth, WA. They have about 10 taps of some good beers from the local micros to some imports from yes you heard it Germany. I had some brews I had never seen so it was fun for me. We got a toasty pretzel and a great brat and sat under the covered area in the back. There was music playing and a great atmosphere. My family and I loved it and if you ever are in need of afresh beer and some good music this is the place. I bet at Oktoberfest time this place is jammed. The 10 different mustards to choose from was fun also to add to the event. I can’t wait to go back and try more food and beer. Make this a stop on your Leavenworth/Beer seeking visit. I was glad I did. Prost…
