80 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 Hoser (151) Cowtown, Alberta | December 24, 2012 Big open space that can get really loud in the evening but a mid afternoon to early evening pint this place and be awesome. I like when the TVs aren’t on here and they could turn the music down a little. Love the Chicken Pot Pie here. | 76 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 14/20 TimE (216) Tokyo, Japan | December 23, 2012 Big open sqaure space. Beer menu was solid with 70taps incl some very rare stuff like Aphrodisiaque. Bottle list was also solid. Sat at the bar and service was prompt. Didn’t eat but looked like standard pub fare. Prices were perhaps a bit high, but not outrageous. Beer was served way too cold and my glasses litterally had pieces of ice on it. Music was too loud, but par for the course in Calgary. Good place for a group. Not a place I would frequent alot as the atmosphere doesn’t really appeal, but respectable place nonetheless. | 78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 Ferris (78) Edmonton, Alberta | December 8, 2012| Updated April 2, 2013 Nice atmosphere, a beer hall, with an impressive number of taps for Calgary. Food and service a decent, prices are a little high, but normal for the area. The only fault is the trendy nature of this place, in the evening I have seen prohibitive line ups of the clubbing crowd. | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 Scopey (271) Croydon, England | September 18, 2012 Great contemporary craft beer hall located on 17 Avenue SW. Interior is spacious, modern and clean. Apparently they were going for some sort of train station type theme. The beer selection is focused on North America, with 70ish taps and about 40 bottles. This includes good US stuff such as Deschutes and Left Coast and a very interesting selection of Canadian beers including Dieu du Ciel, Half Pints and Flying Monkey. Staff were very friendly and immediately offered some tasters before my selection. Prices seemed ok to me and the food was decent. For me anyway this is the best beer location in town. I would definitely return. | 80 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 patricks110 (31) Alberta | September 15, 2012 Overall an awesome place. Great beer menu...a bi pricey with superb food and a fantastic oyster selection. service is good but ambiance is odd. overall, still one of the best places in town | 78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 presario (141) Stampede City, Alberta | July 11, 2012 Love the location, patio (could be bigger) food (chowder and pouting) tables and beer selection. I like the concept of any beer for one price but how much are beer geeks going to pay the higher price for lower cost beers. I prefer the Beer Revolution pricing and specials. | 70 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 14/20 MrFecesious (23) British Columbia | July 1, 2012 Nice beer hall. Always good to see long tables in social places. Beer list is alright, with some offerings that are well worth the $6 for 14oz sleeves across the board. The 20oz pints are a bit pricey at $8.50. It seems they rotate the taps which is good to hear. They have a live beer menu that is good to refer to if the hardcopy menu is behind. The service was excellent. Don’t expect the waiting staff to know much about the beers though. Good people watching patio. Though the patio chairs are skinny people accommodating and lack comfort for an afternoon session. |
