This place has excellent food and a superb tap and bottle selection. This is not a gastro pub, per se, but they know their shit. If you are in Milwaukee, seek out this bar/restaurant.

Went with theisti right @ opening (this was a theme). Timís description (just down fromthis one) is very apt, and not sure I can improve on it. Itís as if someone setup a very cool bar in a random house in an old Milwaukee neighborhood. In a good way. Tap list was smallish (6 or 8 if memory serves), but very well selected. Very interesting place

Visited on a Thursday right as they were opening (5 pm). Cool old house, tons of character in the bar, as well as the back room. My best memories of Milwaukee invariably include the odd bar or restaurant that was tucked in some random neighborhood, and this is certainly one of those spots. Service was attentive, though was understandably distracted setting up for the night. They had a solid tap list, and the bartender was excited to talk about their food. We didnít have the time to stay, but would love to head back to eat. Overall, this is a very comfortable "Milwaukee" tavern to spend some time at, with the obvious benefit of having super high end beer and food.

A nice corner bar with good food. Not a huge menu but everything is very well done.
Love the old school karma at this neighborhood bar. A rather small bar area but a great old wood bar with an excellent selection of Whiskey, etc. The beer selection is very good and represents a variety of big beer styles and a respectable Belgian selection in bombers. Absolutely love the meat, olive, cheese and bread platter at the bar. WOW!
Great place to just hang out and have have few with friends at the rail. Nothing pretentious just a solid place to enjoy conversation and and interesting selection of beer and spirits.

Quaint little place in Riverwest. Can get a decent dinner and a very solid selection of beers. Loved the fact that they carried all of the Oskar Blues varieties. Dinner there is okay, no real selection for entrees, just paninis and antipasta.

Iíd heard some good things about this place, but or some reason I didnít get around to visiting until yesterday. I came back today. This place is wonderful. Very good taps, and a large and varied selection of solid everday micros, many Belgians, and some harder to find seasonals and/or extreme beers. The bartender (I think heís the owner) is knowledgable and passionate about beer as well as liquor and wine, and heís pretty friendly, too. The atmosphere is likewise inviting, a little earthy, bistro-ish without the attitude. The food was also very good. I could see this becoming my second favorite place in Milwaukee (after Romansí Pub) -- and, if Iím hungry, it might rank ahead of Romansí!

Definitely a hidden gem...I Mapquested directions to this place and thought for sure Iíd been misled when I turned down Weil Street. This is a small but lively bistro...it feels a bit like Trucodero but smaller and more Italian. There is definite attention paid to beer in this establishment with a quickly rotating draft selection and a wide variety of glassware. There are perhaps 8 taps and apprximately 80 beers in bottles. During my particular visit I noticed Capital Winter Skal, Red Seal Ale, Goose Island IPA, Anchor Christmas Ale, Hennepin, and a few others. The food was pretty good as well. Overall, I was quite impressed with my experience at Nessun Dorma.

Nice place. Awesome food. Quaint and a good atmosphere. Kinda in a strange place. A true hidden gem.
Thereís always a bunch of people in here. Mostly 25-35 yr old people. Hop Rod Rye was on tap (3/4/06). They have tons of bourbons, scotchs, wines, beers. I had a Van Winkle bourbon and a Bowmore scotch along with a cigar, soup, the worlds best Artichoke Dip, and a Hop Rod.

This is a bar/restaurant that stands out in both respects. The food revolves around italianish panini sandwiches, picture mushrooms, peppers, basil and lots of cheese on warm grilled bread. Expect to pay about $6-$7 per plate. The tap selection is good, standouts on my visit being Hop Rod Rye and Two-Hearted. Best food/beer in the Riverwest neightborhood, and worth a short trip even if youíre downtown.
Because this is a bar they allow smoking in the main room; something to keep in mind if youíre going to get food.
