I think that the best thing about this place is the outstanding clientele! Seems like everyone we met here had a beers story and was really up on their beer. Made for a really fun evening for out-of-towners passing through. Oh, and the owner gave us a couple of vintage BBC barleywines from his own private stash. Canít beat that.

Rich Oís is the place. They are super militant about good beer and get some ridiculously rare and delicious stuff on tap. Rotation and upkeep of said selection is stellar. The ambiance is perfect: warm and homey if you are a beer snob. There are enough anti-swill and Marxist displays to make a macro-drinker uncomfortable. I love "The Bud Drinker" painting near the couch.

Awesome beer selection with knowledgeable staff & friendly patrons. The Gravity Head celebration has the best high gravity beer selection on tap that Iíve seen anywhere. If you like pizza, you are also in for a treat. I feel lucky to live nearby.

My home away from home and less than a mile from our house. I almost feel too close to it, I think thatís why I hadnít rated it before. Iíll try to be objective ... bear with me.
A diverse crowd is nearly always to be found. Many profs from the local college, accountants, tool and dye guys and some pilots are regulars. Interesting conversation will nearly always ensue. Service is great - especially for beer geeks. Questions are frequently answered with a taster sized sample. The 30+ taps include 5 or so house beers and many revered guests. Nearly 200 bottles are in stock including some vintage and a few rare ones.
The food is also great. Several have mentioned the pizza, but the house-made soups, sandwiches (try the Ham and Cheese Our Way (with olives and banana peppers)), lasagna and calzones are also super!
Overall, I feel lucky to live so close.

Tiny place, but awesome! The "bar" is a whopping 4 stools, and there are maybe 20 tables total. The house beers (New Albinian, of course - why are these places even listed seprate?) are good, and the bottle and tap list is amazing! More lambics than most other bars have beers altogether, plus a vintage list with í99 Bigfoot and Samichlaus as the stars. Food was great, and more than reasonably priced. If you ever get within 100 miles of this place, GO!!!

a great beer bar period! amazing pizzaís, great tap list and very friendly staff/owner. When i was there, they were getting ready for gravity head, so the taps were not as dense as they are most of the time. However, the SN bigfoot 06 i had on tap was truely amazing! I have never had that beer on tap and it was to die for!

This place felt like home. Tiny bar (literally four stools) sits among scattered tables and couches. Real friendly and eclectic crowd. Great tap selection with everything served in the right glass at the right temperature. They also have a huge bottle list at pretty reasonable prices. The pizza is outstanding as well.

Small place and very comfortable feeling. Decent number of taps 20+ that are constantly being rotated. Very good bottle selection 150+. Staff is knowledgeable and generally willing to talk to you about most anything (if itís not crowded). The non-smoking section is a little small and located between the bathrooms and the front door which can be a bit annoying. Sportstime Pizza one door down is basically the same place as Rich Oís with more seating. The menuís are the same in both places. The pizzas are incredible but most of the other fare that i have sampled was somewhat lacking. Itís ok though the pizzas definatly will keep the food score up. This is a must if you are ever in the area.
