Thanks to Ratebeer.com since I’ve lived in NYC for 4 years and only recently became aware of NBD through this site. Selection is fantastic and service is in typical NYC style= there is none. My concern is the conditions in which the beers are kept. I recently visited during a 90 degree day during late afternoon and found the warehouse sweltering. Many, if not most of these beers should probably not be exposed to such conditions. I can only speculate as to what the continued exposure to a NYC summer may be doing to the quality of the beer.

Nothing fancy here, basic city warehouse. Fairly clean all things considered. Didn’t get or ask for any help so score is left in the middle. Nice selection great prices, saw a Arrogant Bastard magnum bottle for 50 buck for example. Nothing refridgerated, but store was reletively cool considering the high 80 degree temperture outside. Prices are clearl marked.

One of the best selections of hard to find bottles on earth. (period) It’s a garage, the service is good, and the prices are just shockingly low.

[as most know, the prices at this place have gone through the roof, and hte selection, IMHO, is just average compared to the other great stores in the area - I no longer shop here) Looks like any other Chinatown warehouse from the outside, so much so that they need to advertise that they are open to the public with a rather large sign - once you get inside, though, you realize this is one hell of a beer store - they have everything that is available in New York, and are more than likely to have anything newly available before anyone else - make sure you look carefully, because you never know what might be hinding on some of those out of the way shelves - prices are excellent - on my most recent visit they had Allagash Odyssey for 12 bucks, which is about 3 dollars below the average - the area is a bitch to find parking in, though - go one block east to allen street where they have metered parking; there is almost always an open spot - must stop if you’re in New York.

Great selection and prices. I heard you may be able to split six packs too (I didn’t ask, but tis worth a shot). I was traveling via backpack, so it was a bit sad that I couldn’t buy more beer.

Awesome bottle shop. Lots and lots of selection in a huge warehouse. The feeling is a bit disconcerting as you watch people leaving with their cases of Miller while you’re perusing the singles section forobscure imports, but they seem to serve both the macro and micro market well. Located on the edge of Chinatown, this is a can’t miss spot when in New York. Prices seemed quite reasonable as well.

Great place with a really cool location in Chinatown. They have rare beers which have been aged. They have a whole seperate shelf of aged beers. The guy whom I spoke to was very nice and extremely helpful. The highlights of beers include Bear Republic, Stone Brewing, South Hampton, Westvleteren 8, Rochefort, Victory, Hair of the Dog Adam and many more. The prices are great. A bottle of Double Bastard is five bucks. Beat that.

Amazing selection of rare and vintage beers. You would think the prices would be high for NYC, but they were actually better than my local store. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Great Place!

Absolutely amazing selection. The front door of this place is always busy with various porters schlepping kegs and cases out for delivery. Place is like a small warehouse, tucked away in a grunge section just north of Chinatown. Incredible selection of singles. Incredible prices, stickered and priced like a garage sale. All six packs can be broken into singles as well, if you so desire, without extortionist rates but by actual 1/6 rates. The staff is friendly and will banter with you about sales and tastes of their buyers if you just grab one of them and ask for help. Hilton is the guy I spoke with, a fantastic, knowledgable young guy. Bulletproof glass on the cashier’s window adds to the charm
