Located in a rather quiet part of Chinatown (compared to the nearby Canal St.), the store offers a dazzling collection of beers. Yes, some of them are past BBD. Yes, the place is a shabby warehouse. Yes, the staff may seem to be rather disinterested at first sight. But they are not unfriendly, and their selection of products is definitely a reason for visiting this place while in Manhattan.

This place my have a lot of bottles, though outside of the impressive Italian and Belgian sections, not a lot too exotic or that canít be found in other places. Itís a warehouse which is great for breweries bad for bottle shops. The day I visited was in the mid 80ís and it was just as hot inside. Prices in NYC are ridiculous enough but I would never spend money at place that treated their product so badly.

Iíd heard a lot of good things about this place so I was a little let down when I checked it out for myself. My biggest problem being how old a lot of the stuff on the shelves here was. Two year old IPAs? No thanks. (One was actually 4 years old.) There was also no customer service at allówhich seems to be the overall way of things in Manhattan. The selection is pretty great for whatís available in New York as long as you keep an eye on dates. The ambiance is very...industrial.

probably the best prices and best selection for (non-refrigerated) bottles in nyc. absurd cider list. fantastic prices. demented selection. not everything is going to be in the best condition, but, for the price, you canít really get hurt here. good family business that has been there since the sixties. this is where you go for bottled beer in nyc.

Finally stopped in here. dirty warehouse and staff wasnít around when i was there other than cashier behind bullet proof glass, although i didnít test to see if glass was in fact that strong. Prices were good for NY. didnít see anything super special but decent quality stuff and some different selections. the box they gave me to put beer in was super dirty and filthied up my jacket.

After the reviews I was underwhelmed. Dimly lit with no selection service even though the people behind the purchasing counter are friendly and helpful. Prices a little bit on the better side. Selection is pretty good but not nearly as good as Eagle Provisions in Brooklyn

Excellent selection, and extremely helpful staff. Not to expensive. All in all, I found what I was looking for, and more...

A beer warehouse with good prices and a huge selection. My only gripe was it was winter and due to the open setup it was freezing, and after 20 minutes of looking I was incredibly cold and wanted to get somewhere warmer. This dampened my experience somewhat. But overall the service was helpful (if a bit sparse) and the selection and prices were great. Will be going back for sure.

Basically a warehouse right down the street form Whole Foods-Bowery. Really just a bunch of shelves stocked full of craft beer at very good prices for this part of the city. Couple harder to find beers, but what makes them special is the size of their selection. Service was very attentive as well.

After reading all the reviews I just HAD to visit this joint since I am a native NYer (though I moved to AZ in 1993 before the internet) Walked in and thought íthis is pretty smallí as I walked through to the back of the place and looked for a restroom I needed. Found the restroom and told my dad to ask someone where the Stouts and Porters were. Came out and he had not encountered anyone yet, so I went to the front *maximum security* checkout counter to ask where they keep the Porters and Stouts. The old Asian lady behind the bullet-proof glass barked "we dont have it!"... naturally, I was sorely disappointed but figured since I came all the way from AZ I should investigate further. I found the import section which was nicely stocked even though it has been years since I cared for any imported beer. Then, out of the blue, like a magic beer genie appears a young caucasian woman who knew exactly where all the Stouts and Porters were! To make a long story short (oops, too late!) I found some interesting stuff there but not really the phenomenon that seems to be suggested by other reviewers. Prices were a bit on the high side as well.
