Stopped in on an early saturday evening. Parking lot behind the building was about half full when I got there, and stayed about the same during my visit. Most seats inside were taken, so I ended up standing at the bar. Very modern decor. The staff was friendly and kept checking on me throughout my visit. I ordered the meat and cheese tray, which had three meats and three cheeses of pretty high quality. This is a pretty nice tray to order to go with the cider and mead samplers. The variety of meads and ciders offered were pretty diverse, but unfortunately they only had 9 available which wasnít enough to fill the two 6 glass samplers I ordered. Thatís alright though, I was able to get three extra samples of my favorite offering. Iíll definitely stop in here next time Iím in town.

Really cool place. There was some dude working who seemed more interested in chatting up a couple young girls rather than explaining the meads to me me and my lady, but the taste made up for the lack of service. I would gladly go back next time Iím in Indy.

Neat little neighborhood, but parking is a pain in the ass. I like the feel of the place, modern, comfortable, clean. Lots of little trinkets of fine chocolate and food items. Cool glassware for sale. The offer tasters of 6 for $5, sale growlers, bottles, and kegs. Staff was ok, nice but not really into it or knowledgable. The quality of the meads was hit or miss, some were really good, the rest were meh.

I didnít like mead until I came to this place. Itís set up like a winery tasting room - nice couches, a small bar, bottles for sale. There were many meads/honey wines to enjoy, roughly 10 or so taps, but unfortunately only had time to stay for 1 glass. This place has certainly changed my attitude about mead and Iíd strongly encourage everyone to visit, even if you think you donít like mead. The Fountain Square location is nice, nearby restaurants and the Fountain Square Brewery as well. I canít wait to go back!

Stopped by this place on the way back from Dark Lord Day 2013 with b3shine, his recommendation. Not a mead-head, but some lighter fruity gluten free beers seemed nice, the day after trying so many huge beers. The moment I walked in, I was floored. Place is relatively small, but very beautiful. Big open space is clean and aesthetically pleasing, looks like a modern art gallery. Beautiful striking paintings on the wall for sale, at reasonable prices, even. Standing only bar is more of a long table, seems like the bartenders are just standing at the bar with you, a nice lack of separation that was complemented by the incredible service. Both ladies that helped us were very nice, patient, and extremely helpful. They had a nice mix of very interesting sounding carbonated meads on tap, I was able to try all 9 since they let you sample any single mead for just $1. The meads blew my mind, particularly the Shelby Blue Ribbon and the Breakfast Magpie. Incredibly well done, balanced, and interesting flavor combinations, with fantastic texture and body. Ended up getting a to-go 1 liter growler of BM for $15. Lots of very interesting and unique honey products also for sale, I took home "blueberry whipped honey" as well. Towards the tail end of our stay, the bartenders found out that we were hungry and looking for local beer, so they offered us about a dozen suggestions for places around town (we ended up going to Pure Eatery). Incredibly awesome place. Made me rethink everything I know about meads. Donít pass this up!

Very nice located in the Fountain square area. An area that is trying hard to return to its former glory. Excellent friendly service and all the meads and ciders were delightful.

A very cool meadery with a nice selection of still meads, carbonated meads, and ciders. If I had to pick a word to describe New Day, it would be artisanal. The atmosphere is nice and the service is flawless. Get the Breakfast Magpie if itís on when you go!

Different location than the Meadery proper, so figured it should be added. Visited here on a pleasant drizzly evening in March and absolutely LOVED it. Convivial neighborhood joint populated by a nice cross-section of folks, all lively and warm. The couple who run the joint were incredibly gracious, serving us some terrific cheese, crackers, proscuitto, and olives, and we sampled a few of the many lovely offerings (there were tons of bottles and so on but I didnít have room in my luggage, alas). And man, what a room! Look at the photos on the homepage - so cool! Fountain Square is pretty great these days.

I really enjoyed this place. The atmosphere was great, the service was great, the cheese & olive plate I purchased was great, and most of all the mead was great. I would highly recommend this to anyone. They had some very creative and interesting meads for novices and aficionados alike.

This place is very stylized, but warm without being pretentious. Tia and her husband (sorry, Iím terrible with names!) are very friendly. The meads range from good to great. The individual glasses are priced just about right, but the tastings are the real value.
Come on First Fridays when you can see some of our local artists and eat from a surprisingly great spread.
