Reachable by the #10 bus from Poydras street (central), or the streetcar on St. Charles plus a walk south. Characterless modern two-level taphouse serving 20 of their own beers, nothing of superb quality, but enough diversity for picky drinkers. An unremarkable barbecue restaurant shares space with them.

Interesting place. Easy and free street parking out front. I walked into the brewery proper first, but was politely redirected to the tasting room. There is an interesting ’waiting room’ as you enter, complete with lounge chairs and magazines. Inside is a standard tasting room. Taps are on a screen as well as a chalkboard; note that the chalkboard is the more current of the two. Flights of four (you choose) are $8. They typically have their core line up in cans as well as maybe a bottle or two of special stuff to go at any time. I didnt count taps, but I am pretty sure it was more than ten. Bar was long and plenty of seats on a Monday evening. Some tables as well. I THINK that the bathrooms are outhouses outside, but I elected to hold it rather than find out. No significant food. Service was good, bartender was pretty forthright about which of their beers he didn’t like :). Beers were decent, with a couple of standouts. I REALLY enjoyed the tart hogtied. Excellent.

Only downside is that it is hard to get to, have to ride a bike, get a cab, or walk a few miles from downtown. Besides the location this place is great! Humble looking from the outside but the tap room is fairly new and they have a large amount of rotating "brewery only" beers to choose from, along with a set list of ones that they distribute everywhere. When I was there they had a few sours and strange ones that won’t ever be bottled. They have brewery tours on the weekends which are free and include an hour of free beer pours (3 or 4 to choose from). Tour was informative and humorous, and, free beer. Worth a visit if you are in New Orleans for more than a day.

This was most of the way through a long walk, part of which through the poorly lit neighborhood surrounding the NOLA brewery. The tasting room is actually quite nice despite the dumpy looking area. Inside is a nice bar and about two dozen taps. They’ll do flights or pints or just any number of tasters that you want (if you ask nicely). While I was there they had the usual lineup of 6 or so and a ton of experimental taps, many of which were dry hopped variations of certain beers (so not rateable). The server was really nice and let everyone at the bar try some things but that may have had to do with the fact that some of the people at the bar were regulars. They’ve got a few tables but the place was relatively empty on a work night so getting a seat at the bar was easy. Fun place, lots of ticks, decent beer. Since I need to explore the garden district a bit more anyway I’d definitely stop back in if I make it back to New Orleans.

The brewery has been around five years, but the taproom is new. Large wooded bar and a bunch of tables. Dog-friendly, there were two when I stopped in, including one belonging to the brewer. More than a dozen beers were on, all very interesting, and staff was very generous with the free samples, handing me the first before I had a chance to sit down (my kind of place!). Definfitely a fun stop. Sadly, bizarre state laws do not allow food beyond potato chips, I have no clue why.

One of the best breweries I’ve been to in awhile. Ample seating in the taproom with a few TV’s that brought in a few locals to watch the Saints game on the Sunday I was there. They also let you go into the warehouse area where they have cornhole and other games setup for everyone to use. Service was fantastic and extremely friendly. Not sure if it was just for the Saints game, but in the corner of the taproom they had a table setup with free jambalaya and chips/dip. Plenty of beers on tap with 13 pouring the day I was there. The beers themselves were varied in style and all-around delicious. Even their experimental offerings were solid. Would love to visit this place again next time I visit New Orleans.

8-10 beers on tap. Not very centrally located but easy to find by car. Good beers and very friendly service. Wi-fi. What else can I ask?

Love the new Tap Room. Great place to enjoy the NOLA lineup and some test and one-off batches. A few TVs to watch whatever’s going on. Keep up the great work.

The brewery’s tap room opened last week and it adds a much-needed comfortable space to regularly purchase and enjoy NOLA’s beer. They offer all their current selections on draft, as well as another 6-8 test batches and experiments like barrel aged beer and recipes they’re working on for their upcoming Imperial Porter and Pale Ale. You can often find food trucks parked outside, and sports events on the televisions.
