Stopped during last years Craft Beer Week, they did not have the special they advertised which was pretty lame. Had a few cool beers on tap and looks like quite a dive.

I visited the Nomad for the first time tonight and l enjoyed it quite a bit. First off, it had Surly Darkness on tap, quite a bit later in the season than the rest of the Twin Cities which was a delicious surprise. They also had Founders Breakfast Stout, Ovila, La Trappe, O’Dell, and a bunch of other tasty craft taps (15 total including one tap of Jameson whiskey). A very interesting dive to check out. Be sure to stop over to The Wienery down the block when you need to build a base.

Not a bad spot - cool patio, decent selection of beers. But almost has a bit of a seedy feel to it.

I stopped here on my way to the Dome to catch a Twins game. I walked into a friendly local pub with a great selection of beers, and felt right at home. I had a few Surly’s on tap and was asked to play bocce ball with some of the locals. After talking to the owner Todd he informed me that they had several firkin events thought the year. Service was great, a total WIN!!!! This was a huge find, and if you want a diamond in the ruff, this is it. Thanks for the great time and I’ll be back. And I’ll have to catch one of the music events. And if you ever you put that golf tourney together, please post it, I’ll be waiting.

Much like the Triple Rock down the street, not really a craft beer bar. Sure... the occasional Surly and Bells... But what other place in town doesn’t carry those. Cool patio in the summer.Awesome place to drink some Guinness and watch some World Cup Soccer, though. Not a ton of taps, and lacking in the bottle selection, it’s a decent enough place to stop on the Towh Hall-Acadia-Blue Nile-Zipps West Bank Run.

I can’t help but compare this to the Milwaukee version of the Nomad. The Minneapolis version diefinitely avoided my biggest complaint about the former -- the crowd here was much more down to earth, almost blue collar, and seemingly more genuinely Bohemian (as opposed to the Bohemian wannabes in Milwaukee). However, the beer list is a little weaker (and Milwaukee’s ain’t great). Still, it’s pleasant enough, and the "beer culture" is good enough, that it’s worth a stop if you’re in the neighborhood. And they did have a coule of Surly beers, so that’s always good.

A cool place to hang out in the African neighborhood on the West Bank. When I was last there, the taps were Sierra Nevada Harvest, Schell’s Dark, Surly Furious, Summit EPA, Hoegaarden, Murphy’s Irish Stout and several macros. Very decent selection of Belgians and micros in bottles as well, with a more than ample supply of PBR in cans for all the indie rock kids that go there for the shows.

New thoughts. Overpriced. Selection went downhill a little when they sharpened their perception of their market. Definitely a cool bar. Not a beer bar though.
