Visited on a Sunday afternoon in July 2015, strolled though the City centre and arrived here, itís a long bar with 70s school furniture. Landed during an American beer festival so tried a couple, well looked after and service also friendly. Not a massive range so moved on. Itís a good place but think there are now better in Leeds

wicked place. dark and dingy vibe which i like, and also had some genuinely rare beers - pannepot reserve- which i canít get in london. loads of keg interest- magic rock, illkley, siren etc and some good stuff on cask. little bit off the beaten track but thats just quibbling.

Not quite sure what happened here but I am convinced that I had reviewed this place in the past, so a little confused. I have been here on two occasions with Loz, in February 2014 and again the same month this year, also visited about 3-4 years ago with dad and Barry. This is a great little bar, it was smaller than I expected, itís narrow but longish. The bar is ahead on the LH side as you enter with seating all down the RH side, the layout reminds me a little of a diner. It has a great selection of beers on keg, cask , and bottle and you can see why this has been the top entry for Leeds now for a few years. I have been here both during the day and late at night and if coming at night be prepared to stand as itís popularity means it gets very busy. The staff are top notch, knowledge, friendly and chatty added to that they play some great tunes. Jackson C Frank on my last visit as well as some other corking tunes. I seem to recall that we were drinking Kernel and Anarchy beers on our last visit. I guess this is a little further up town from Friends of Ham, Bundobust Tapped etc, but with Belgravia Music Hall just a very short walk away you have even more reason to go here, both are great venues, if this is busy then go to Belgravia Music Hall as it is huge in comparison and you should be fine there, come back here afterwards. Really like this venue, decor wise I havenít ever taken much notice and itís often quite a dimly lit place, but it always appears tidy. A great bar you should definitely seek out.

Cozy night-time and quite modern night-time bar. Itís all about modern ale here, both on keg and cask. Great breweries from England and abroad, really good choices of beer, certainly in the top 3 in the city. Prices are a bit higher than usual in town, but you do get quality stuff. Staff is well versed in the subject matter and luckily there is enough of them since it can get busy. Bottle prices are high, but the tap list is sufficient. Perfect for an afternoon tasting stop. Not a place for food, though.

Good range of keg and cask ales, and some rare bottles too. Busy, and quite noisey on a sat night.

It was unsurprisingly a packed house on a visit during the evening. Solid tap list with a mix of US and Euro offerings. Cask and bottles are also here with the handpulls given over to regional breweries. Energetic vibe in this place.

Great place to come for a varied taplist of British craft beers - likely the best in the city. Bottle list is good too, but the prices are absurd on those - prices are reasonable for draught. Service is very friendly and the establishment is very cozy. Highly recommended place to come to in Leeds.

This is where it all began! Craft beer in Leeds found its home at North Bar over 16 years ago. One of the first places to have Sierra Nevada on tap in the UK, one of the first to have Brooklyn on tap in the UK. If youíve been drinking great beer at any point in the last 16 years North Bar were the first places in Leeds to stock it. Trailblazers!
Great line up of kegs even if the cask offerings can be surprisingly dull at times.
Tap Takeovers, meet the brewer and other events along with annual festivals celebrating US beer, Lowlands (Belgium and Neatherlands) and Orval Day.
Simple bar food, pie and peas and stunning cheese, meat and bread boards.
Great atmosphere but some can some be a bit of sauna when its jam-packed.
My only issue is the price. When they were the only show in town you can have insane prices but now there are a number of other great beer bars Iím baffled they havenít brought the prices down.

Best range of beers in Leeds. Local and foreign on tap, pricey rarities in the fridges. Constant change in beer selection, always very well varied types of beers on tap. Beautiful lively place, awesome music, knowledgeable staff.

Nice place, very low key chilled vibe and decor. It is quite expensive, with some bottles priced higher than London but some cask ales and keg beers for 4 quid or less. A super selection - deffo worth a trip. Food wasnít that amazing.
