It was unsurprisingly a packed house on a visit during the evening. Solid tap list with a mix of US and Euro offerings. Cask and bottles are also here with the handpulls given over to regional breweries. Energetic vibe in this place.

Great place to come for a varied taplist of British craft beers - likely the best in the city. Bottle list is good too, but the prices are absurd on those - prices are reasonable for draught. Service is very friendly and the establishment is very cozy. Highly recommended place to come to in Leeds.

This is where it all began! Craft beer in Leeds found its home at North Bar over 16 years ago. One of the first places to have Sierra Nevada on tap in the UK, one of the first to have Brooklyn on tap in the UK. If youíve been drinking great beer at any point in the last 16 years North Bar were the first places in Leeds to stock it. Trailblazers!
Great line up of kegs even if the cask offerings can be surprisingly dull at times.
Tap Takeovers, meet the brewer and other events along with annual festivals celebrating US beer, Lowlands (Belgium and Neatherlands) and Orval Day.
Simple bar food, pie and peas and stunning cheese, meat and bread boards.
Great atmosphere but some can some be a bit of sauna when its jam-packed.
My only issue is the price. When they were the only show in town you can have insane prices but now there are a number of other great beer bars Iím baffled they havenít brought the prices down.

Best range of beers in Leeds. Local and foreign on tap, pricey rarities in the fridges. Constant change in beer selection, always very well varied types of beers on tap. Beautiful lively place, awesome music, knowledgeable staff.

Nice place, very low key chilled vibe and decor. It is quite expensive, with some bottles priced higher than London but some cask ales and keg beers for 4 quid or less. A super selection - deffo worth a trip. Food wasnít that amazing.

One long room, definitely not a traditional pub. Decent mix of foreign and domestic taps. Nice music, played at a reasonable sound. Reasonably priced, informed staff. Lots of spirits . The selection was pretty surprising, lots of gems, like Salty Kiss, Holy Cow, Croucher Val Am on tap. The more I hang out at this place the more I love it. I guess it feels too much like a bar in N America when I first arrived so I had a negative basis, as I am looking for an English pub, but really this place is cool as fuck. Loved the music, chilled out staff and laid back vibe. Rate initially 76, then 82, but this has to go higher. One of my favs in the UK, which really surprises me as when I arrived I would have never thought so.

Iíve been going to North Bar since it opened about 16 years ago.
A real trailblazer in the craft beer scene and still going strong. Expect the best of British, Europe and some real exciting specials from America. They put on some great events, meet the brewer, tap takeovers and themed festivals (Oktoberfest, Lowlands, US) and I do love Orval day.
One of North Barís strengths is their staff, welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about beer.
Yes itís pricey and you may need a second mortgage if you want anything from the fridges. Always ask how much something is before you order.
As for as Leeds (if not West Yorkshire) this is where it all began!

Arguably the best range of beers in Leeds, or maybe West Yorkshire. As well as the ales thereís a more interesting lager selection than your usual tripe and the bottled menu is superb too, although the prices here are above average. The bar itself is easy to miss with its small window and door in the middle of a row of shops in the commercial centre of Leeds. Its own sign is not exactly prominent. Inside itís long and thin and doesnít ascribe to the comfortable pub mentality preferring the minimalist bar approach. None of this puts the masses off though.

Quite a modern type of bar a little off the beaten track, we walked past it twice looking for it, so not the most obvious place. Good selection of Taps to go for with a mostly Yorkshire theme when we were there, also a decent range of bottle beers, if somewhat pricey. A definite one to visit whilst in Leeds.
