Iíve had many good beers from them in the past, but I was slightly dissapointed. Completely packed parking lot on a Saturday night. 5 taps indicated on the board (turns out there were actually 7 if you asked). Two versions of the bourbon Schwarz. Beers were up to standards. Appetizer sampler was quite tasty, the entree I had was decent. Bottles to go. Not that cheap of a stop. Overall it was an okay visit.

Visited October 2011.
FIrst stop in Austin. This place is on the edge of town right off the freeway. This is a large restaurant with a pretty good sized brewing system. Actually, the large grain silo out front makes it seem larger but the fact is that they sell all their beer in house. They had 8 house beers on tap at the time, of which some of them were better than they get credit for here. My favorites were the Py Jingo Pale and the bourbon schwartzbier. The food was alright, about average for a brew pub. They have some fancier dishes but I scrolled past that stuff. Prices were high.

Really nice place that feels more like a restaurant than a pub. Only a handful of beer on tap and all are the brew pubs beer, but nice variety. Good, cheap food n with good service. Worth checking out if youíre in the neighborhood.

Pretty decent place. Good atmosphere and some fine selections of beer, especially in their speciality range. Better food than beer though.

A nice brewpub with very good food located in the Arboretum area of Austin. The bar has about eight taps, only serving NxNW beer. Many of the year round beers are average at best, but the breweryís sour beers and some of the special beers can be very good. The food is also very good, the best of all the Austin brewpubs. The pub occasionally bottles beers and sells them for off-premises consumption. They will also fill any growlers, regardless of which brewery they are from.

Excellent restaurant, definitely no doubt. Great food. Good staff. Their in-house beer doesnít seem to be that good though, I had the "sampler" and the beers they gave were not great, but not bad. Go there to eat, but not drink.

Man, this place makes some very tasty special brews, their kriek is truly killer!! .. the food is pretty good, and the location is pretty but quite out the way, thatís the only knock .. . have sometimes have bottles for say and huge growlers too ($$) .. . they make great beer here and its a nice scenic drive.. :update: but when nothing special is on, not even close to being unique...

Easy to find, stone and glass pub in northwest Austin with good food, quality beer and friendly staff, no guest taps but have 7-8 of their own and trying to fold in a lambic tap and usually a good quality higher ABV, also some bottling

I got into Austin pretty late, and was staying at a hotel nearby. Interior of the restaurant is big new and pretty nice. I sat out on the patio, as it was a beautiful May evening. Service was prompt, though a bit thin on the beer knowledge. When I visited it was a pretty straightforward "brewpub" selection of beers - I had the Wit which was the special. I also had the tri-tip pizza and it was very dull. Overall, seemed like they were sort of going through the motions.

NXNW has some amazing food. Iíll start with that. If nothing else, go there for the food and enjoy some nice beers while youíre at it. That said, go for the special beers, because the standard lineup isnít anything to go crazy for. Theyíre good standard beers, but nothing too interesting. The special beers are often great, though - watch out for the dark kriek, which is one of the best beers in Texas. Blackjack is often available and very nice, as well. NXNW has a cool lodge/industrial ambiance, which is very nice. Iíve also never had any service problems. If youíre hosting a party, get one of their kegs - only $45 for 5.5gal and $95 for a half-barrel. For the beer youíre getting, itís hard to beat those prices. I purchased a keg with a picnic tap that unfortunately wouldnít seal, but when I told them of the problem they gave me a coupon for 20% off my next keg. The rest of the service has been great, as well.
