Ok ok this is the place to go if ur on the east coast!! Built inside an old bank this place is cozy but at the same is huge! Obviously you canít get in most of the hidden rooms but still the room with the fire place really warms u up during Maine winters. Service is simply outstanding and selection is one the best so far in the U.S.! Get there!

A really fine place this one, with a wonderful and varied beer selection. We started out at the patio, and the waiter kept the beers cominí, and when it started to get a bit cool outside, we moved inside and got the same dedicated service. It was actually quicker to have the waiter get us the beers than approaching the bar and ordering the beers ourself. Got nice food as well. No wonder this spot is on top of the Portland places list.

Very nice place with friendly service, fantastic beer selection both on tap and bottles and decent food. I would love to visit this place again.

Nice place, kind of hidden in on the back side of the plaza, basement but ceilings are tall enough so I donít feel claustrophobic. Brick and dark wood bar is about a dozen people. With a bunch of table and a separate front room. Good selection 9 Maine beers and 25 American euro mix. Had a snack of cheese and salami was good, prices fair for area. Overall I like it, Iíd be here a bunch if I lived here worth of a visit if in the metro Portland area

Located off a side alley and itís easy to spot the sign on the Exchange Street side, just across from Thirsty Pig. Nice and comfortable inside when not too packed. They were hosting a Belgian beer fest over the weekend which is all good and well, and fortunately there were local beers still pouring on tap too such as Oxbow, Allagash, Maine Beer Co etc. I only had snacks but food menu available. Outside patio is great for warmer days. Service is fine but expect it to slow right down when busy. I enjoyed my visits here.

On the night that we were there, there were, possibly, and at the most, 5 other people in the place! The service was great, I think, mostly due to the lack of people. Thereís a nice, cozy fireplace, and leather couches that you can sit on, and thankfully, those were ours for a few hours. Kicked back, and enjoyed some Allagash, and a few other Maine beers that I donít recall the name of. I didnít try any food, so I have nothing to say there. The ambiance is cool; it has this basement-like, library feel to it, almost. I think the latter is due to the fireplace, and coziness. Anyways, I could see myself passing out on that fucking couch many a night, if I lived in Portland. All in all, great place, with a great list.

Visited a few times before, most recently on a Sunday evening, so it was super quiet. The place isnít necessarily easy to find, itís in the middle of a block. In the summer the patio is really nice but it was way too cold for this in March. The interior is dark, low ceiling kind of place. The staff is friendly and helpful. The selection is a strong point here, lots of quality locals as well as imported beers on tap, really nice bottle list even though I stuck with the draft list. Really good mix of an American and a Belgian beer bar. They serve some food, small courses of pub food for a decent price, tasty options. Definitely worthy of checking out when in town, I will keep visiting every time I go to Portland.

Small, lowkey place. A little tricky to find as itís behind a building an a single A-frame was the only hint to itís location. Low light, lots of bricks, low ceilings. It seemed like there was a lot of staff for the clientele. Staff was friendly, but not terribly helpful.. Food options look nice but I did not partake. Top notch beer list with local selections and more rare stuff from near and far. I got to try a pretty rare Allagash here. Prices decent. Iíd be here a lot if I were a local.

Great place located in the heart of Portland. A friend and I visited while on a beercation in Portland. Spent several hours trying some of the locals and had dinner which was quite good. A large variety of bottles to choose from and the price was reasonable as well. The inside was setup like an old beer hall and they had an outside patio that we didnít visit. Great place and location in Portland

Big outdoor seating area as well as a dark cozy bar and dining room inside. Great selection of taps and bottles highlighting local and Belgian beers. The option to mix and match charcuterie and cheeses is nice, if a little pricy. Service was disinterested on my one visit, but would not stop me from trying it again.
