A nice, small brewpub. Nice and knowledgeable service with good English. Four beers on tap and they have seasonals sometimes. Unfortunately not this time of the year. Have a whole slew of beer distillates as well, don’t care for those so didn’t try them. Food is alright, regular fare of the region so if you’re into that kind of thing. The beers are cheap, the food is average.

Nice place - great traditional food and fresh delicious beer (Dunkler Bock is my favorite), but service is average.

I visited the Altstadthof on a sunny afternoon in mid September 2012, so I sat out in the biergarten in the back - in view of the brewery. The service was nice and friendly, despite my poor German, and they offered a good selection of locally brewed beers on draft - five in all - and a pretty good food menu. I had a very nice time at the Altstadthof and would love to come back.

Nice brewpub, with awesome food. Their schwarzbier is good, but I was impressed by their weisse. I’m not a huge fan of the style, but the Sommerweisse was a good example of the style. When there they were closing the garden, so we had to eat inside. After eating I tried their schwarzbier-,bockbier- and hopfengeist schnapps. It really worths a stop if you’re in Nürnberg

Beers are worthy, inside is closer to cute than quaint and I did enjoy the interior ’garden’ (Innenhof) tucked way inside. Service was cherry and the sampler included some house schnapps said to be distilled from the Rotes. Food was traditional and on point. Would be happy to come back when the bocks are on.

I score my beers and until I tried the Weiss all 3 (red,black and helles) all got A+. No other brewery of my 9000-odd beers had such consistent high scores. Their beers are in the league of Trappist beers. They are simply superb. I have a tear in my eye just thinking of this place. If you like tasty beer then come here. At times the bar is a bit clicky but put on a thick skin and enjoy superb beer. I am already planning a re-visit!

Superb hausbruaerei in equally outstanding location below the schloss in the altstadt. The black beer is a good as I remember having it for the first time some 15 years ago. The brewery part is through the arch next door to the bar. there is seating thare and in the yard at the rear.

Really nice brewpub that we visited on Tuesday 5th June 2012. I have to say that I was mightily impressed with the Maibock in particular but the other beer that I had was also pleasant. Nice surroundings, service fine, food looked very nice as well. The shop was closed for lunch when we were there so missed out on visiting that. This place is located directly opposite Hutt’N and was open when Hutt’N was closed, though we did get to the latter, later on in the day.

Visited relatively early on our visit to Nürnberg on Monday, as Hütt’n was closed. Cute wooden interior, nothing stunning, I’d say "just right". Good service generally, though the waitress acted kinda strange, but who wouldn’t when 4 loud Croats, probably stinking from the journey, barge in. The beers ranged from brilliant (the Weizen) and quite good (the seasonal Roter Bock), to the "why did I order this?!" Helles. The prices were good too I reckon. Don’t skip it!

Small wood-paneled interior, pretty much your classic German setting. Four beers on tap and 4-5 in bottles at the shop across the entrance hall. Bockbier on tap for the fall was decent but unexciting. Worth checking out as the beer isn’t terrible but don’t expect anything to wow you.
