November 2013. Had a good selection of beers available on day of visit. Place was very busy, but managed to sit outside. Place is small and could do with a tidy up, but a nice place to sit and drink beer while the family are shopping.

A small, trim pub that reminded me of the Harp in Chando’s Place somewhat in terms of layout. A solid rotating keg line-up with what looked to be a healthy selection in terms of bottles to boot. Certainly not as hectic as the Harp, at least on my visit on a Wednesday evening. Helpful, friendly staff and good, central location to pop in for a glass or two of something tidy. There’s not a great deal else to say other than it’s a pleasant little hideaway well worth a visit or two.

This is a small, scruffy Irish pub in central Auckland, with a fairly interesting beer list. Staff are friendly and efficient. Worth a quick look.

Perhaps no longer the best place to grab a pint in central Auckland but always reliable...Regular Epic taps and a rotating draught selection from other Kiwi micros, although the beers can be hit or miss depending what’s on. Bottle list is available. Staff went about their business and generally kept to themselves. They do food, but I didn’t eat on my numerous visits. Pleasant location along Vulcan Lane and I return often as it’s a nice retreat for a quiet pint or two.

They’ve got a few quality local beer selections here, like Epic, and it’s a legitimately old Irish pub, with a good local vibe, albeit a bit suspicious of outsiders. I can’t stand the constant influx of second-hand smoke, however, nor do I care for the crappy 80s rock they play--so old-school-generic. If they’d come out of their Provencal time-lock, while keeping ligit with its Irishness, this pub could up its scene significantly.
