Not a geeky sports bar, but rather a fun place, a gathering spot for the locals, where out of towners will also feel at home. Stopped here to watch the 2013 NCAA Mens’ College Basketball Tournament.
I asked the bartender to turn on the Temple, NC State game, and he did. It was great watching my team win here in this real sports bar setting. The local crowd was great. While I was sitting at the bar, I witnesses how hard John and the staff work taking care of everyone. The service was great, attentive, and automatic. There are ten TVs there. If your game isn’t on one of them, ask the staff to change one over to the one that you want to watch – just like I did. (The sound is turned down on the sets).
They have a full bar, a very long bar with 18 beers on tap! They have a fine selection – they know how to pick them! I did not try their food- as I had just enjoyed lunch with my family a little earlier – but there sure were a lot of people there eating the food!
With the courts, DA’s office, Legal Aid Society, and a law school, all within a one mile radius of O’Keefe’s, this place is a neighborhood bar for many law students and lawyers. Do other people come here? I don’t know, I think the bartender has a law license.
It’s standard bar food; burgers, sandwiches, pastas, and fried appetizers. I’m a fan of their quesadillas and cheese fries. Most drinks are about $7
They have some good music playing in the background, and it is not turned up too loud.
