58 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 4/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 13/20 rejtable (58) Ontario | June 4, 2012 Gets props for being a great place to enjoy a lively night in Halifax, even though the beer list is pretty useless. Always a few from either Propeller or Garisson though, so all is not lost. | 58 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 6/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 12/20 phaleslu (314) Cincinnati, Ohio | August 22, 2011 Sort of surprised to see this one on here, given the limited options. There were a handful of locals (Propeller, Garrison, Keith’s) and the usual Irish/English things you’d see in any Irish pub around the world. The waiter was good but seemed overworked with a big crowd and small staff. Nice, typical Irish bar interior. Live Irish music and no cover, very jovial and warm atmosphere. They got that part right for sure. Just not a ton of beers. Although the Keith’s mini-keg table topper was interesting. | 78 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 mmmmbeer123123 (13) Alabama | July 3, 2009 Loved the ambiance. My favorite pub in Halifax. I have to recommend their stew. | 66 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 JoeMcPhee (465) Toronto, ON, Ontario | December 31, 2008 Large wood-lined pub with several bars scattered throughout. Decent tap list for Halifax, but like everywhere else in the province, it is not all that hot. I am a fan of the food, though and it’s a great place to watch a band. | 64 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 Gethinbeer (107) Musky, Nova Scotia | June 25, 2008| Updated November 1, 2008 Big pub in the centre of Halifax. Good feel to it and does decent pub food. Local beer selection but nothing special here. Probably could tick off a few locals from Garrison and Propeller.
| 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 glennmastrange (43) hobe sound, Florida | January 30, 2008| Updated May 16, 2009 A great place to meet up with people after work, or new people on the weekends. Food is very good, ranging from mussels to braised lamb shank. Beers on tap are about the best you can get anywhere in town, Garrisons Imperial Pale being the best for me. Steve behind the bar is always busy but always attentive. Sara, the cutie who served us was friendly and very accomodating. Definitely a place to stop in at least once when you’re in Halifax. |
