Easy to reach place, a few steps from the Puotila (Botby gård) metro station, but looks very out of place in a small shopping center in a housing development. Good range of local beers. Very friendly and extremely knowledgeable staff, and the locals were the friendliest we encountered in Helsinki. Definitely worth going out of your way to try this place.

Very interesting place. The pub itself is somewhere between pub and low-grade Kneipe but what makes is quite unique in Finland is the variety of ever-changing brews. The selection is probably the best in Finland when comes to rarities. Staff knows what they’re doing. Great (best in Finland) selection of whiskeys. Definitely worth detour.

Crazy place that’d you’d never think has awesome beer as its located in a run down strip mall. This is a total locals joint and if not for the Cantilon no one would know about. Taking away the Cantillon, there are several excellent beers made just for them and a crazy bottle selection. Its scattered about and hard to find, but there are gems in there. Not worth coming to Helsinki to check this place out, but if you’re there its worth the train ride to take a look.

Got some help to know what metro stop to get off and in what general direction to move, got there fairly easy. Visited end of July 2011. Doesn’t feel like a general type area for this type of pub, but that almost makesw it even better. They had 2 bottles of one special Cantillon left, so we got that one. Also had Cantillon Lou Pepe Kriek on tap, as well as two hoppy RIS. Very nice place with great service, also mainly friendly patrons. I’ll go back for sure!

Returned end of June 2012, didn’t have the special Cantillon any longer, but a very nice selection of beers on draught. We were a small group but managed to find seating inside the back room. Nice fast informative service and also got samples of beers without asking for it, just for asking what kind it was. Glad I took the time out of my other than beer schedule on this trip to go back, will try and do the same next time!

Possibly the best bottled beer selection in the country. Excellent frequent festivals covering all different themes (This year there’s been US, Sweden, Lambic, and Plevna.) Just occasionally the staff are slow, but in my visits in early 2011 I’ve not felt unnecessarily delayed. Very hard to leave - I always just want 3 more, and then miss the metro home. Fortunately a bus leaves from just outside. Not quite the same since Marjut left.

As stated by everyone, a very weird location, but an excellent selection. Just don’t get drunk and start on the unbelievable malt selection, your bank account really won’t like that...

must stop in helsinki> a bit hard to find but really close to a tram stop> Great selection of bottles & draft. Grassroots, lots of innish stuff I’ve never heard of but that was really good. Was able to score their house Cantillion bottle. Service was ok in the beginning but once we got talking about the business he was great> friendly atmosphere, tons of Scotch if youre also into that

Possibly as far away from central Helsinki as you can be while still being in Helsinki, very close to a metro station though, so that poses no issue at all! And to think that I would’ve missed it because of the distance if SaintMatty hadn’t offered to take me along (and a huge, huge thanks for that!). A relatively small place, almost full of locals drinking good or great beer, but the selection is just stunning, rare and quality Finnish and foreign beers on tap (we had Hornbeer RIS, Moor JJJ IPA and some rare Kuninkaankartanon stuff on tap and the Hornbeer Oak Aged Cranberry Bastard in bottles). And they have Siperia and Severin which are probably among top 5 Finnish beers on tap. Huge selection of bottles, a shitload of Belgian, Danish and American stuff. Ah, just go there.

This is like one of those bars what every suburb have - but it has excellent selection of beers. They have own import from Sweden and Belgium. Check the cooler in the back room.

Utterly incongruous. Is this the most obscurely located world class beer cafe in the world? It is not even the largest pub in the small downmarket precinct area next to a suburban housing estate a long way down the branch line tram route in the eastern suburbs of Helsinki. But the beer selection is superb, including top Finnish micros and weird availability from all over. Royal service / advice too.
