Utterly incongruous. Is this the most obscurely located world class beer cafe in the world? It is not even the largest pub in the small downmarket precinct area next to a suburban housing estate a long way down the branch line tram route in the eastern suburbs of Helsinki. But the beer selection is superb, including top Finnish micros and weird availability from all over. Royal service / advice too.

Well, end of a long day of drinking combined with the awesome selection here, maybe some memory isn’t too clear. Beer selection was awesome, drafts and bottles. Will stop back at the bar on my upcoming trip to Helsinki, hopefully will find my way back to the hotel after.

Fantastic bar only 2 min walk, south of Puotila Metro Station. It takes about 15 min to get there, with the Metro from the Central Station in Helsinki. The owners are very friendly and their selection of beers and whiskey is huge. They got 16 taps with beers from Finnish micros, especially Koskipanimo (Plevnan), and at lot of bottles from Danish, American, Norwegian, Belgian and etc. breweries. If you’re out searching rarities this is where you wanna go! They even had a bottle of Cantillon Blåbær Lambik in the back of there fridge, and i believe the Plevnan Siperia is on tap at all times. I went on a 3 day weekend trip to Helsinki, and ended up here every day. Despite that, it was possible to try a lot of new and rare beers every day. Don’t miss the opportunity if you’re in Helsinki!

Easy to reach place, a few steps from the Puotila (Botby gård) metro station, but looks very out of place in a small shopping center in a housing development. Good range of local beers. Very friendly and extremely knowledgeable staff, and the locals were the friendliest we encountered in Helsinki. Definitely worth going out of your way to try this place.

After a wedding the day before, my finnish beerfriend Terro suggested that I should join him in Helsinki for a short beer sightseeing. This was the second place we visited and Ihad a hard time leaving. The had a first class selection of finnish micro brew on tap and a marvelous selection of different first rate beer on bottle from US, Belgium,Norway, Denmark and I think a saw some from England as well. The staff is friendly and know what they are talking aboute. Next time I’m in Helsinki I’ll come again.

One of the best beer places in Europe/World. Great selection of different beers from all over the world. Only downside is that you have to go there separately, its about 10 km from city centre. Totally worth a visit and Pikkulintu also brings beers to country and deliveres them to grocery stores and other beer bars.

If you can only go to two places in Helsinki make this one of them. Despite a 20 minute subway ride from the city center the trip was validated by a broad selection of beers from around the world. In addition to about 8 local taps there are bottles from Belgium, the United States, and other places.

Prices were in line with everywhere else in Helsinki which is to say don’t expect to find any deals. However if your timing is right you’ll find some great lambics in addition to the Finnish offerings. If that’s not enough the 400+ bottles of scotch will keep you occupied.

Visited in July 2010. Really bizarre to find a place like Olutravintola Pikkulintu in the middle of a not too exciting residential neighborhood. It is truly a magnificent place, not pretty but what a range of beer and whiskey. About 15-20 minutes with Metro from central Helsinki. Get off the train at Puotila/Botby gård. Then walk about 4 minutes to the bar. Very friendly staff and locals. I did drink Cantillon Pikkulinnun Viskilambic, Slottskällans Nelson and Plevnan Siperia Imperial Stout during my visit. It’s amazing that you can find an extremely rare Cantillon, at a place like Pikkulintu. (Cantillon Pikkulinnun Viskilambic did cost 14 EUR for a bottle 37,5cl)
