56 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 5/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 1/10 OVERALL 11/20 JK (206) Uptown, Minneapolis, Minnesota | October 5, 2011 This brewpub was very close to my hotel in the Latin Quarter, visited on Monday evening. First, I liked the atmosphere. Upscale, with Sinatra and jazz for music. I had the 4-beer sampler for nearly 8 Euros. The glasses were very small, and one was clearly an underpour, so blatantly done that if it were in the states, or if I spoke French, I would have insisted the glass be properly filled. The bartender, and the very pretty waitress were very friendly. You can read my ratings if you want to know the quality of the beers, with my only other complaint being the cost for so little beer. I did not eat. | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 17/20 steamfreak (54) , England | September 29, 2011 Seeing as this was apparantly the first brewpub in Paris I’m horrified I’ve missed it til now. I’ve been going to the Frog pubs for years and reckon this is better. If you don’t like fake Irish pubs, don’t worry this is isn’t one. The house brewed beers are very good and the flammekuechen excellent. | 58 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 6/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 11/20 mabel (211) Toronto, Ontario | July 25, 2011 2010-08. Visited on a Saturday evening last July, we ate a nice dinner of flammekueches (or pizzas on flat bread with mushrooms, frommage blanc, and "lardons" or bacon), and tried their 4 brews on tap. Nice red tables and comfortable red leather chairs were about the room, and there was some funky beat music playing. Helpful staff served us though there was a strong cologne in the air that was a little off-putting. Good experience though limited in the beer department. Used to be part of 3B, same menu and beer (blanche, blonde, ambrée, brune). The beers are decent, but for Paris, they’re superior. Friendly service. Sampler is 7.80 euros for 4 samples. | 60 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 11/20 Marko (188) Split, Croatia | March 5, 2011 A cute little pub a stone’s throw from the Saint-Sulpice and the Jardins du Luxembourg. Good, efficient service, beers as good if not generally better than at the nearby Frog and cheaper (they don’t force you to drink pints and have a sampler). Nice atmosphere, didn’t order any food. Seems better than the nearby Frog. | 66 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 KnutAlbert (240) Oslo, Norway | November 8, 2010 A no nonsense brewpub with good food and very decent beers. Not for the most exciting and inventive brews, but they are fresh, honest and very drinkable. Charming staff. | 56 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 12/20 DeanF (42) Iqaluit, Nunavut | October 21, 2010 This is, by their own admission, France’s first and only brewpub and sadly they’ve borrowed a few of the bad "brewpub" habits from over in North America - the ambiance is much less than many other Parisian venues, the food is decidedly average. For a French person it’s probably quite interesting and a novelty, but for a visitor it’s probably too much like feeling you’re somewhere else. The beers aren’t too bad, if you check the ratings, and apparently they do a few special brews throughout various seasons; but it’s hardly worth going out of your way for. | 70 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 14/20 jercraigs (234) Toronto, Ontario | August 18, 2010 2010-08-07. Interesting place, pub meets bistro atmosphere. Staff is friendly... The flammekeuche was a pizza like thing with bacon, mushrooms, cheese and onions. It was oily but delicious! Waitress was a cute quintessentially French girl, which included speaking very little English. The waiter thought himself suave and spoke better English which paired with the trail of cologne he left behind as he walked by. James Brown playing on the stereo. Worth a visit if you are looking for beer in Paris, but the beers are just okay. On tap at ONeil, Paris
| 72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 14/20 Geiserich (51) Vienna, Austria | April 26, 2010 I tried three beers and as a wanted to pay, the very friendly barkeeper offered me their fourth beer for free! Also good music. |
