Visited late afternoon early evening. Very hard to find from website map. 50 by 50 foot room. Long brushed stainless stel bar w/o stools. 28 tap handles, 3 beer engines, few extra taps nehond bar. Nbar back is now 6 rows of botled beers reaching to ceiling and well lit. Very impressive.
Dark brown walls and 20foot ceiling with drop down lamps oven 10 cream-colored tall tables (7 4-top and 4 10-top) with padded chrome stools. Three low tables along wall. Four barred windows b with botled on display inward. Wooden cask of 16 gradi Borgo.
Low volume rock & roll tunes.
Menu of chips, scrocchette, mozzarella chess, burgers (7-12euro), chicken (6-8), veggie snacks, combo plate (9-15 euro).
Smoking illegal inside in
Italy some some illiterate addicts persist.
Young (20s) crowd, gets loud due to hard surface walls.
Most beers are 3 euro for 33cl.
Best draught selection. Didn’t see a botle lost.

Ok, last time I get into Open it was late august and the big hall was not as full as in winter. But, I have to say it, I found everything perfect. Great selection of italian beer, 100 bottle, maybe more, 40 taps (how many places have such an high selection?), very good food (even if I didn’t find de Bellis’ creations). The choice to bet on italian beers make this pub selective and maybe for this reason this place will never be a real world beer mecca. But this place is a real encyclopaedia of italian craftbeer!

First, I TOTALLY DISAGREE with the current ratebeer classification as a restaurant. This place is way more a pub/bar than a restaurant. Yes they serve food but so do 90% of the pubs/bars on ratebeer. And not on to the review… Close to the Rome tourist area but located on a tiny street that very few tourist will find. The little door on this little street doesn’t prepare you for what’s inside. Superb interior that is both classy and warm. Medium size, sits about 100. The bar itself has one of the nicest display I have ever seen with a high mirror wall and hundreds of bottle nicely laid-out on many rows. The pub has a full menu but not much traditional Italian Cuisine. I did not eat there because as a tourist I am not eating a burger in Rome, no sir. The place does not feel like a restaurant, it really has a pub atmosphere, not a restaurant atmosphere. No tv anywhere, yeah! Smooth rock music at acceptable low volume. Open Baladin is probably the place to go to drink Italian micros on tap. The other main beer places in town (Ma Che Siete, Brasserie 4:20, etc.) are nice but they do not focus on Italian micros like Open Baladin does. Only Bir&Fud restaurant comes close to Open Baladin as far as Italian micros selection is concerned. The tap selection is impressive, about 40 taps of mostly Italian micros. I thought I knew a bit about Italian micros but honestly I was flipping a coin to make my selections. Obviously there is a lot of Baladin on tap but there is also a very nice selection from about a dozen of other Italian micros. There is also an extensive bottle list but with that many Italian micro brews on tap I did not bother with the bottle list. Great service, they will let you sample anything before you buy. The two staff I talked to we able to speak decent english. And just to make things better, they have free wi-fi. This new bar is a must-go for anybody interested in Italian micros. Plus it is walking distance from Ma Che Siete and Bir&Fud, two other must-visit in town.
