Very place in the centre of Rome with huge selection of italian beers. Unfortunatly when i went only part of lines are available (about 50%).
Service is a bit slow.

Ok, last time I get into Open it was late august and the big hall was not as full as in winter. But, I have to say it, I found everything perfect. Great selection of italian beer, 100 bottle, maybe more, 40 taps (how many places have such an high selection?), very good food (even if I didn’t find de Bellis’ creations). The choice to bet on italian beers make this pub selective and maybe for this reason this place will never be a real world beer mecca. But this place is a real encyclopaedia of italian craftbeer!

First, I TOTALLY DISAGREE with the current ratebeer classification as a restaurant. This place is way more a pub/bar than a restaurant. Yes they serve food but so do 90% of the pubs/bars on ratebeer. And not on to the review… Close to the Rome tourist area but located on a tiny street that very few tourist will find. The little door on this little street doesn’t prepare you for what’s inside. Superb interior that is both classy and warm. Medium size, sits about 100. The bar itself has one of the nicest display I have ever seen with a high mirror wall and hundreds of bottle nicely laid-out on many rows. The pub has a full menu but not much traditional Italian Cuisine. I did not eat there because as a tourist I am not eating a burger in Rome, no sir. The place does not feel like a restaurant, it really has a pub atmosphere, not a restaurant atmosphere. No tv anywhere, yeah! Smooth rock music at acceptable low volume. Open Baladin is probably the place to go to drink Italian micros on tap. The other main beer places in town (Ma Che Siete, Brasserie 4:20, etc.) are nice but they do not focus on Italian micros like Open Baladin does. Only Bir&Fud restaurant comes close to Open Baladin as far as Italian micros selection is concerned. The tap selection is impressive, about 40 taps of mostly Italian micros. I thought I knew a bit about Italian micros but honestly I was flipping a coin to make my selections. Obviously there is a lot of Baladin on tap but there is also a very nice selection from about a dozen of other Italian micros. There is also an extensive bottle list but with that many Italian micro brews on tap I did not bother with the bottle list. Great service, they will let you sample anything before you buy. The two staff I talked to we able to speak decent english. And just to make things better, they have free wi-fi. This new bar is a must-go for anybody interested in Italian micros. Plus it is walking distance from Ma Che Siete and Bir&Fud, two other must-visit in town.

38 taps of Italian microbrew is hard to argue with. But the service is ridiculous. At three visits on three different days, it took ages to order a beer. When I hold the beer menu and say I just have to make a decision, the waiter doesn’t have to go and stay away for ten minutes. This happened whether the place was half full or completely empty. One night we ordered four burgers, one rare, two medium, and one well done. They were all served rare. And they either have selected the most muddy and yeasty beers in Italy, or they are not kept very well. But the food is good otherwise and the beer choice is exciting.

Located in a small alley, even our guide had to track this place with his gps. Nice interior, loads of taps with good Italian beers. Service is VERY slow but friendly, food is nice, beers all cost €4. Definitely worth a visit for all the Italian beers.

Rather big bar with 38 beers on draft - all of them locals - and approx 100 beers on bottle. The food was very good but the service was slow and did not seem to bother if the customers wanted to make any orders. Nice ambiance though playing quiet music.

This could have been a world class joint. It has a fine atmosphere and okay service. The tap selction is amazing. However most of the beers are unclean and buttery. A shame . . this could have been so muc better!!! They need to clean the taps more often!
