74 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 worldbeertaste (73) , England | May 8, 2012 A nice small pub with great cheap food and a huge selection krikby longsdale beers. 6 bottles from the brewery as well as some belgiun beers. 5 thirds for 4gbp is a good deal. The staff are nice but not the sharpest bunch | 78 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 Boudicca (373) London, England | December 21, 2011 A comfortable local pub with a great range of beers and food that’s hard to beat for value.
Kirkby Lonsdale has a lot of pubs and you’d need a while to do them all justice but the Orange Tree would be the place to start. It’s a traditional, homely place with a room either side of the door (one has a pool table) and a restaurant area at the back. They have three Kirkby Lonsdale taps (one of which had a new beer, “Devil’s Bridge”), three guests and a small selection of bottles from Belgium and the USA. Samplers of five beers in third of a pint glasses are available.
The pub food is very good and the daily special at £3.25 (fish and chips when we were there on a Friday lunchtime) is a real bargain that would be hard to beat. They also have accommodation and the bar offers a 10% discount for CAMRA members.
