Visited after dinner on a Tuesday. Grungy music club, open to the street. Open setup, with seating at the bar along one wall. There was no live music the night I visited, though the music being played was great. Approximately 16 beers on draft, with a number of local and national craft selections. I had a Funky Buddha Hop Gun and it was fresh. They only use plastic glasses, which is both a drawback and totally understandable. Overall, I liked this place - it had a ton of character.
70 = ★★Ĺ (Locals should check it out, visitors with extended time)
I only use the total score, not the component parts.

Fat Catís feels like Moeís from the Simpsonís but with a much better stuff than Duff. My wish is that they had more draft beer. Most of the craft beer is in bottles.

Fat Catís is my go to on Friday to get away from the stuffy suit crowd and have some good beer.
1. Thereís usually a dog hanging out inside
2. The live music is never repeating, itís always funky and fun
3. Staff is very knowledgeable about beers- they know what theyíve got bottled and on tap, and they know whatís in it, how strong it is, and they can always make good recommendations for you.
Thereís an inside bar, TVs playing sports, a funky array of eclectic paraphernalia adorning the walls, a pool table, an outside patio bar- and itís chock full of characters. Great for a chill Friday after work or for going out with friends and avoiding hearing íLiviní on a Prayerí sung by a cover band twelve times.
Just keep walking past the Tarpon crowd and you canít miss it :)

Think dive bar with good beer. Thatís exactly what Fat Cats is. Pretty damn good selection on tap but you will likely get it in a plastic cup especially on the weekends. The bartenders do a pretty dam good job even when itís busy and a number of them are really knowledgeable. Prices are on point and not overpriced by being in downtown Lauderdale.

Rambled on into this place before a wedding reception. The person working the bar was very nice and says he is committed to getting craft brew to the ft laud masses. They had ten or so good craft taps when we were there. Had a ruination. Dark loungy place in the daytime -- may liven up at night. For ft lauderdale any place w/ craft brew is worth a mention.

Great spot. Sort of an oasis in the middle of the douchebaggery that is downtown Ft Lauderdale. If you can get by the popped collars, the Ed Hardy fools and the bud light/redbull fueled testosterone - hop right into Fatcats. Great dimly lit dive bar that plays fantastic blues and rock and has just about the best craft beer selection in Ft Lauderdale. Don Singleton is a fantastic bartender and can always steer your palette in the proper direction. Whether an IPA, an Imperial Stout, a Belgian ale or Dark Brown - the selection is fantastic.
Very friendly patronage and very ,much a neighborhood bar feel. Very dog-friendly as well.

Iím not a downtown guy really, but if Iím down there I always go here. The selection is pretty good compared to all the crap they sell in the downtown area. The owner is pretty knowledgeable about his beers. Check it out if your in the area.
