This place is awesome! Two levels, each with a nice warm wood bar that welcomes you, plenty of things to do to control your attention, including darts, pool, shuffle board, indoor bocci courts, ring toss, and arcade games. Service was great, very nice and seemed to know there stuff pretty well. Selection was solid, nothing that really blew me away, but solid craft selections on tap and in bottles. Food was great, typical pub grub but very well done with modern, pseudo-gourmet twists. Prices were a bit on the higher side, but just above average of what I would expect in a big city. Pretty damn good place grab some beers and have some fun.

Great food and beer - fun place to be.

First, you kind of have to know where this place is to find it. It’s under the big building where 14th Street dead ends into Howell Mill. Go down the steps and look for a door with a big fancy O on it. Curtdawsey’s comment about the clientele is pretty accurate. We spent an hour waiting for a group of guys in button-down blue shirts, khaki and pale yellow shorts and flip flops to finish their bocce game and they kind of fit in here. That being said, I loved the bar. The fries were simply incredible. That’s the only food we had, but I’d be more than willing to order other things next time after that. It seems to have a carnival gone upscale theme going on with things like corndogs and maple cotton candy mixed in with the more standard offerings. The beer list isn’t going to be able to hold up to the variety of the better Taco Macs, Summits, or Brick Store, but there is a page-length draft list and another page of bottles and most of these are very solid offerings. I’d say this is definitely a beer-geek acceptable bar.I didn’t notice any budmillercoors on the tap list, but I didn’t look at the bottles, choosing to go for the Founder’s Red Rye and Weinhenstephaner Hefeweizen instead. But really the best draw to me is the indoor bocce courts, pool tables, darts, skee ball, shuffleboard and other games to keep you entertained when with friends. If I lived in the area, I’d be spending a lot of time in this bar, I think. The barteders were friendly, efficient and attentive. I didn’t have to work to get their attention even though I wasn’t dressed as well as some of the others in the bar. It is a tad loud inside and it was a little crowded, but neither was enough of an issue to keep me from highly recommending this place.

I love the concept - it’s a door, unmarked, in the basement of an historic old building in West Midtown, Atlanta. You walk in and, whoa, there’s a bar/restaurant. Then you walk down the steps and there’s a whole new floor, with indoor bocce, pool, darts, etc.. and a beautiful wood bar. The beers are great - I had a Rogue Chocolate Stout and Bell’s Two-Hearted on draft. It was VERY crowded so service was iffy. The upstairs skewed older, like GA Tech professors. The students, however, were all downstairs. The concrete floors bounced the sound around so conversation was a challenge. Go for lunch - or dinner - and hang upstairs if you want to eat and downstairs to people watch. It is a little trendy for my taste but I certainly enjoyed my visit. Worth checking out...

Fairly well-hidden with no big signs - apparently by design as they want to grow by word of mouth, like a speak-easy. Very clean, modern interior with lots of unstained wood grain. Good service and very nice-looking menu. We just got starters/snacks, but they were very tasty - excellent fries. Beer selection was good showcasing some local beers and fantastic non-local beers. Downstairs has another bar and a large gaming area including pool tables, darts, shuffleboard, and a large indoor bocce ball court. Overall, it was a nice place, and I’d like to go back to try more food and have a full meal there.
