Odd little traditional Belgian beer cafe located fairly centrally in Antwerp. I have to say I rather enjoyed the experience. Yes it has a very local feel and it is 99% locals, but worth visiting for the beer. They have a comprehensive selection of lambic at unbeatable prices and had it not closed fairly shortly after we had arrived I would have stayed for some time.

Small place with a decent selection. A local pub off the beaten track. Worth a visit for a more "genuine" pub experience.

Cosy place. Not the biggest or best selection. But it’s ok, and the atmosphere is good. Feels like stepping back in time.

(Visited Oct 2013) Nice and friendly beer café. Quite handy on my visit, since it was on the way from Kulminator to the railway station. Classic brown café. Nice and friendly atmosphere, with a locals feel. Efficient and friendly service. The bar man was spending his time playing cards with the patrons, but still keeping an eye on the other guests’ glasses. Beer selection was not vast, but quite varied and interesting, I managed to find a couple of new ticks. Well worth a visit.

Wonderful cafe with an apparently original inter-war interior. Despite it’s fame, still caters mainly for locals. Beer menu available on request specials are displayed behind the bar and written on blackboards. There is usually something interesting available, often unusual Lambics and on my last visit a selection from De Ranke & Kerkom. Highly recommended and an An Antwerps classic.

For all sour lovers: This is the place to be for geuzes (Cantillion,Hanssens, 3F, Lindemans, Boon, Oud Beersel, ..) & beers from De Ranke in Antwerp.

Very charming and small place with a clear ambition of remaining a beer haven for the locals. At first we were told that the place was closing (a lie), but moments later the owner was regretful and welcomed us and made us feel like one of the locals by chatting with us and telling all sort of interesting facts about we beers we purchased. So this became the #1 experience in Antwerp (Kulminator was closed).

Pretty nice and calm place with a decent bottle list and good prices. The lambic assortment is good and cheap. Helpful staff. More of a hangout for the locals, but they were inviting enough. Taps weren’t really interesting.

This might only be the third best bar in the city of Antwerp but almost anywhere else it would be head and shoulders above the rest. The lambic selection here does not include anything particularly rare. However the prices were unbelieveable. Three 375 ml guezes and a draft beer came to right around 20 Euros.
It was open during the week but looking at the hours they do seem a bit eccentric for the weekends. If you want to make this a stop on your itinerary try to do so between Monday and Thursday when you’ll have better luck. It isn’t that far away from Kulminator where you can get a few nightcaps.

They have some really nice lambics and the service was good. The staff seemed to be a bit wierd in customer service but it was not a bad service. It was a nice place and it is worth visiting!
