The place was completely full with locals when I went there and there was no place to seat. It was very loud and quite smoky. The beer list is decent but nothing great. Took a 3 Fonteinen Doesjel and enjoyed it on a table outside in the cold. Not a bad place, I should come here again sometime when is room inside.

Visited at 10 am on a Saturday (a bar that opens at 7:30 am - f yeah!), and took the last table in the place. Many white haired people were already enjoying a beer or two. Very friendly bartending duo (owners?). The ambiance was great, old but in the comfy homey sense. They had an unpretentious but full card of gueuzes and krieks, young and old Orval and several classics. Prices were dirt cheap. Love this place, will assuredly return when I’m in Antwerp.

Visited on a Saturday morning around 10:00 A.M. and the place was already full of locals drinking lambics. The Café is also located near a nice market where we picked some food for breakfast. The ambiance in this place is phenomenal... exactly how I Imagine an old-style lambic bar/café. Service couldn’t be better... super friendly, quick and knowledgeable. The owner even went to his storage place outside the café and came back 5 minutes later with a beer that we ordered and wasn’t available in the café cellar. There’s no rarities on the menu, but there’s a bunch of very good lambic available at the best prices I have found yet in Belgium. We ordered a Drie Fonteinen Oude Kriek (375 ml) for 5,5 euros and we received one from 2007 (!). This is definitely my favorite beer place in Antwerp!

Great bar and selection of Belgians, especially sours and lambics. Very old pub look and feel, looks the same as it did 50 years ago. It has a local feel, people were playing cards when we arrived. Bartender was really nice and has a great knowledge of beer. Met several friendly beer people while we were there and had a fantastic time. Highly recommend.

Small place with a decent selection. A local pub off the beaten track. Worth a visit for a more "genuine" pub experience.

Cosy place. Not the biggest or best selection. But it’s ok, and the atmosphere is good. Feels like stepping back in time.

(Visited Oct 2013) Nice and friendly beer café. Quite handy on my visit, since it was on the way from Kulminator to the railway station. Classic brown café. Nice and friendly atmosphere, with a locals feel. Efficient and friendly service. The bar man was spending his time playing cards with the patrons, but still keeping an eye on the other guests’ glasses. Beer selection was not vast, but quite varied and interesting, I managed to find a couple of new ticks. Well worth a visit.

Wonderful cafe with an apparently original inter-war interior. Despite it’s fame, still caters mainly for locals. Beer menu available on request specials are displayed behind the bar and written on blackboards. There is usually something interesting available, often unusual Lambics and on my last visit a selection from De Ranke & Kerkom. Highly recommended and an An Antwerps classic.

For all sour lovers: This is the place to be for geuzes (Cantillion,Hanssens, 3F, Lindemans, Boon, Oud Beersel, ..) & beers from De Ranke in Antwerp.
