Another posthumous review.
Out of the Vaults, as others have touched on the re-incarnation of the original vaults, was a regular match day stop off for myself when I had a season ticket for city.
Strange shaped pub, long an thin with entrances at either end.
10 to a dozen cask ales in true freehouse stylee, often from the surrounding countied, always well kept, regularly changing over.
Friendly and efficient service.
Good old pub - I miss this place!

This used to be a great pub! Unfortunately closed now, but has moved across the street where the selection is now much better.

This pub is now officially called Vin IV, though the regulars still call it The Vaults or Out Of The Vaults. The beer choice is very good at the moment. There are regular beers such as Oakhamís Bishopís Farewell, Leatherbritches Goldings and Hairy Helmet and either Beowulf Dragon Smoke Stout (a great beer) or Finnís Hall Porter. There is often 12 beers on from micros from all over the country in good condition and served by very friendly bar staff. There are twice monthly fests (not in summer). Easily the best pub in Leicester. A good choice of foreign bottled beers. Quite a knowledeable staff and a good friendly atmosphere, the regulars are welcoming and like a chat. Recommended

A remarkable pub with a different interior, more modern, jazzy. The alternative music felt welcome in my ears. Excellent range of cask ales, possibly the best Iíve seen in Leicester with lots of different breweries, a cider, maybe 12 total. Obviously interested staff. All good quality from start to finish. Maybe my very favourite in this town with strong candidates.

Visited during Leicester Beer Festival 2005
Excellent city centre pub with a graet selection of micro brewery ales, some of them can be quite rare and arenít seen at amny other places, they definitely go out of their way to source beers.

Up to twelve real ales featuring heavily on OAkham, Glentworth and Salamander on most occassions. There can be some rare stuff and their festivals sources some really rare stuff from the newest breweries. Guilty of the typical problem of empty pumps meaning sometimes there are only six or seven real ales on. Four or five foreign beers and half a dozen bottles complete the drinks selection. Sevrice is always good and friendly. Can get very smoky. They do serve food but Iíve yet to sample it.

The Vaults is dead and now largely forgotten thanks to this new improved venture by Paul Summers, who is always good for a chat. This pub has a proper real ale pub character, spoiled a little by the amount of smoke (it makes me go slighty deaf). Service is always prompt and good natured. Usually has about ten real ales on. The bonus is the quick turnaround of barrels. You can be in there for a couple of hours and see three new beers appear. Beers are generally from the north and not normally available in the Midlands. The best real ale pub in Leicester.

This is a newish pub, opened by the team behind former Leicester real ale stalwart The Vaults. I paid my first visit last Saturday and I must say it is almost the epitome of the perfect British freehouse, in a City which already has 2-3 other perfect specimens. I canít remember seeing any macros at all, but what I do recall was 2 Milds, at least 4 guest bitters, a German guest, 2 Belgian Framboises, and a Kriek and Blanche de Bruxelles on permenently. Great stuff!! A chilled out place, which seemed to be doing very well.
