I was here with New Year’ s Eve. I had a little beer tasting of 5 beers which was not that special but it was fun. We sit outside which was nice. Good service.

This is a beach-bar with the most patio seating I’ve seen in SoCal to maximize perfect weather enjoyment. They were completely full so I couldn’t get a seat out there though. The beers were underwhelming. Very mundane and non-impressive. Seems mostly people coming here to drink swill and get drunk at the beach.

As we walked along the beach, my wife poited out the Sky Bar sign and I saw "Freshest Beer on the Beach" so my cousin and I went in for a sampler. We did not try any food but their Pacific Beach Porter and IPA were excellent.

PB Alehouse is surprising. The old Taylors blew. The food here is good, it’s right off the beach, prices are about right for the neighborhood and the beer is surprisingly good. Much better than the old joint and this place needs some real reviews. Def an alternative to PB Tap Room adn the food is better although it is just house beer. Which ain’t horrible. I’d def go here over Karl Strauss or the Oggi’s anyday.

Great location, right on the beach. The food is decent as well. The beer, not so good. Almost everything they have is watery and weak.

While the ratings for this place were across the board bad, I decided to visit every place listed in the San Diego Brewer’s Guild pamphlet. Howerver, upon arriving I found the place to be defunct. There was a sign in front that read, "Coming Soon Pacific Beach Alehouse." I’ll try the new place in a few months, but don’t drive out there expecting to find Taylors.

Drove past this place maybe 3 or 4 times while I was visiting down in San Diego. The aura coming off the outside of this places just screams "keep driving, Liar’s club is around the corner". But with many hours to kill on a Saturday before my plane took off, pouring rain, no parking around the liar’s club, and being right around mission beach; I decided to bite the bullet. Inside it smelled like the treated sewage that runs into the ocean on some outlet streams. Island style wicker seats and tables with an old sleepy bar. There were some college kids and old people downing some pints and no one at the bar. I’ll bite! 5 beers on tap. The James Brown was the only one worth trying again. The hefeweizen was the worst I’ve ever had in my life. The service was dodgy and I didn’t even want to think about eating food. Wow, this was worse than I thought it would be, and I had a very, very, very low expectation of this place to begin with.

The only reason I went here was because it was located ~4 blocks from my Hotel. If you are not within walking distance, don’t bother seeking it out. 5 beers on tap all below average. They all seemed thin and watery with no real aromas or tastes. Sat at the bar, so can’t comment on the food.
