It has taken me a while to try this place out, but I was not disappointed. We sat on the patio out back, which was nice in spite of the cars driving past, and trashy people yelling at each other on the street. This is in downtown Oakland afterall. The service was decent. The beer was good. The food was excellent. I had a good time, and will definitely return.

This Oakland landmark has existed since 1988, serving a wide range of their brews along with a few guest taps. There is a nice bar with around a dozen stools and quite a few tables located nearby. The food is pretty good though not exceptional. Nice ambiance.

Big restaurant and bar. The place was clean but old and unkept, could use a remodel. The beer was decent, nothing special. The food was good, fair service.

Nearest bar from my hotel so had to check this place. Couple of sports channels on tv. Beers from own brewery and some local guest beers. Food was nothing special.

Standard brew pub, very safe and is a crowd pleaser with my co-workers who drink bud light otherwise. Beer was standard, safe, and hitting all the generic brew pub styles. I forget the beer I have had here, for whatever that means. Place is always busy happy hour time. If Applebee's opened a brew pub, this would be it. I am not putting this place down, you'll have fun, but I will be at Trappist down the street.

Great brewpub in Oakland, weird area though. Great taps and decent bar food.

Visited numerous times over the last 4 years when in the area for Trappist or Beer Revolution.
The atmosphere can be a bit depressing as itís quiet, dirty looking (just worn down wood furniture really), and on a quiet street. The house beers arent great either but ocasionally theyíll have a good guest tap.
I hate to badmouth a brewery but this is a stop I make once every year or two to see whatís new.

Visisted in Sep í08 on a Saturday evening and once again a few nights later.
Largely drank their own beers which were ok but nothing special.
Good ambiance and friendly staff who I got chatting to.
Only came here as we were staying at the Marriot a few blocks away so definately not worth the trip under the bay but if youíre in Oakland itís worth popping into.

This place is almost depressing. The floors and furniture all have sort of an unfinished wood look to them. The place just seems dirty and dusty. The house beers are atrocious. The only thing that saves this place are the guest taps. Their house beers are also a bit on the expensive side, which is unfortunate considering their quality.

This appears to be your standard brewpub. Bar is to the right as you walk in. They had 4 house beers, and about 15 guest beers. The guest beer selection was pretty solid with Union Jack and Double Jack to name a few. I didnít have any of the food, so I canít comment on that, really. Service was decent. Bathrooms were clean enough, and they were downstairs. Their house offerings werenít very good. Itís just a block from The Trappist, so if you want a more relaxed, laid back environment with non-Belgian beers, this place is worth checking out.
