78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 15/20 joeneugs (89) Livermore, California | April 24, 2013 Cool little place in a somewhat hip, residential area of Sacramento. Nice tap list and very good selection of bottles despite being on the small side. I didn’t get any food, but this is a nice relaxing place to have some good beers. Local California beers and Belgians dominate the selection. I’ll try to return next time I’m in the area. | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 18/20 cionco (4) California | May 31, 2012 Great place. Warm and friendly. Super beers selection! No complaints, just gets busy. That’s a good thing. Beer and food are neighborhood treasure. Excellent glassware and passionate owner and servers. Winning place. | 82 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 15/20 drinkwell (11) , | November 28, 2011 Cool place in South Sac. Great vibes in a chill spot. Mostly focused on Belgian beers with a handful of American styles on tap as well. Good sandwiches. Always a good stop when in the area | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 17/20 bhensonb (405) Woodland, California | February 26, 2011 Nice beer selection, but limited. Westy on display, but apparently saved for food events. Venue is Brussels beer bar slapped onto 50s US structure. Nice chalk imaging on the walls. Sandwiches were past excellent. Heck of a nice place. | 88 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 Oscbert (11) Sacramento, California | February 24, 2011 Great experience everytime I come here. Luckily it is only a few minutes away from my house. The owner and workers are very friendly and make you feel welcome. The owner has a love for Belgium beer. The food is great.
| 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 4/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 mu11igan (4) Davis, California | September 22, 2010 Go to Pangaea for the beer. Definitely the best Belgian beer tap selection in Sacramento. Pass on their food unless you’re absolutely starving or need something to slow the alcohol absorption in your stomach. Their staff is knowledgeable and friendly. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 sactodd (1) Citrus Heights, California | September 21, 2010 During the morning, it’s mainly a coffee shop. The beer bar heats up about happy hour (3-6pm) and can be busy at times.
Great Belgian beer selection. Many you will not find on tap at other locations.
Tasty salads, sandwiches (including panninis), nachos, sausage plate.
16 taps + 15-20 bottle selection
Happy hour 3-6pm
Open 7-10pm Mon-Sat

Nowhere else I have been comes close on the Belgians. On my trip here the owner came out and discussed the ample beer selection with me at length. Not as a salesman but as an appreciator. Had a nice sandwich as well. As nice as that is, this place is overpriced. For three very nice beers on tap, each beer being approx. half a bottle and two sandwiches...... I paid just over $50 with tip. Those are $8+ beers with 50% head. 1.5 beers and 2 nice bar sandwiches are not worth $50. | 86 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 17/20 dtborelli (1) Sacramento, California | May 19, 2010| Updated June 14, 2011 Great beer on tap. Bernardus 8 and 12. Russian River Pliny the Elder. Odonata. Lots more Allagash, Afflingem. ALL on TAP. Screw the food. Go for the beer. Rob (owner) is really knowledgable and friendly. | 52 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 1/10 OVERALL 7/20 DYCSoccer17 (275) Woodland, California | May 17, 2010| Updated August 28, 2011 I stopped by on a Thursday afternoon. The place was pretty much empty, but I was warmly greeted. By a patron or manager that was seated at one of the tables. There were some couches present and some tables and a bar. It has a quasi lounge-Panera Bread-Starbucks feel. There is a lot of empty space behind the bar and some patio seating. The food menu was pretty interesting, although somewhat limited. Prices are a little high. They have a nice beer menu, which primarily focuses on Belgian beers. There are 16 taps, and about 20 bottles. Prices are quite high. The bartenders were ok...they seemed somewhat knowledgeable. All in all, this place is way out of the way, and the prices are somewhat steep. The ambiance is not congruent. The sausage plate that I had was tasty, though.-------UPDATE------Decided I would update this rating now that they have opened their beer shop next door. There are some interesting beers there that I have not seen, but the prices are ludicrous. There’s no reason why a bottle of Pliny should be $10 or a bottle of Speedway should be $25. GREED. I’m so over this place. |
