I have to update, sadly, because the beer has gone badly downhill since my last update, and even worse I couldnít eat my burger on my last visit! The dollar beer when it rains special keeps the value high, even bad beer is better at $1.

Visited early evening on a Tuesday. Located in the corner of Piedmont park, this appears to have an affiliation with Southwest airlines, as it was labeled as ďSouthwest Porch at Park TavernĒ. This is a sprawling spot with a big outdoor area, a bocce court, a covered tent area and a neat dark bar. Once inside, the feeling is comfortable and friendly. They feature 5 of their own beers, along with 10 guest taps. House brews were not terribly adventurous, though they were clean and well made. I had a beer, and a tasty roll from the sushi bar and enjoyed my visit. This would be a lot of fun for a group.

70 = ★★Ĺ (Locals should check it out, visitors with extended time)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.

Quite a long way from the interstate but worth the drive. Nice roomy but cozy place. Nice beer selection. We only had an appetizer but it was good. I want to go again.

The best thing about this place is the ambiance. Itís basically in Piedmont Park and when the weather is good this is a fantastic place to chill out with a brew. They officially open at 4:30pm and unaware of that fact we wandered in right around 3:45. The bartender was friendly and offered to pour us a round of beer without qualm. The Trail Ale was decent and the Amber ale was just alright.I didnít eat on my visit but I saw they had a sushi bar. I prefer the beers from other brewers in Atlanta, but the location and ambiance of Park Tavern may warrant my return at some point.

Oh, my, God. I canít believe that I failed to rate this place. Alright, Iím not getting to share all of the dirty little secrets that I know about this place *cough* drugs *cough* ex-brewer receiving threats about cops being called for kicking in a glass door, or breaking it. Anyways, the ex-brewer really seemed like he was on his way to brewing great stuff, but he fucked up. Since then, I canít comment on who the brewer is, or what he is like. The beers had carbonation issues when I first visited, and had drank for free. All this was due to the fact that the brewer was inexperienced. The food is decent, and the service was great, only because I knew multiple people that worked here. This place has a lot of events, and needs to get back to the basics. Nice ambiance.

A large touristy pub which is actually sitting inside a public park (right on the border). First time I see that. The inside is typical big family friendly pub. The large patio on the grass of the public park and with view on the park can provide for a relaxing moment if you go before they turn up the music;. The beer is really nothing special. With the type of patrons it is with no surprise that I was served an IPA that wasnít really hoppy. Food menu is what youíd expect from a family friendly American pub. All in all this place is not worth a visit.

The beers here the last time I visited had improved, but the fact of the matter is that the management of this place just doesnít care about the brewing operation. The advertisements always focus on the mainstream beer and cocktails and parties and the place is randomly closed for events that have bought the place. That being said, the location is one of the best in the city with a great view of Piedmont Park and a seriously beautiful building.

Fancy place looks like somewhere you get married more than a brewpub. Had four house beers on draft when I was there and some guest taps. Beer was solid, food looked good but expensive. A bit dimly lit for the beer rater.

Conveniently located near Piedmont Park in midtown Atlanta, the Park Tavern is easy to find. Parking is adequate, but the lot itself is not paved so it is rather rough. When you enter, the interior is quite inviting - dark but not dim, with simple and rugged decor and furniture making for a nice, laid-back atmosphere that says "comfy neighborhood tavern." Noise level is a bit high, but not unbearable and not too raucous. There are a few TVs, but the sound was off when I visited - apparently they save TV noise for a major event such as the Super Bowl. There is ample seating so the Park Tavern can accommodate a small, intimate gathering or a fairly large one. Waitstaff are alert, helpful, and well-trained. The beer is not terrific, but the Park Tavern is well worth a visit.

Nice location offers skyline view of Atlanta, park, patio, and therefore opportunities for pets. Interior is spacious, cozy, and conducive to conversation with friends. Also has good tvs but isnít a sports bar. The beers are a little sad, unfortunately, and a few we had were infected. But one happened to be infected in a way that enhanced it!

I actually kind of liked the vibe in here. The beers werenít too bad, but they were a little weird and rustic. Worth a stop, and Iím sure when the weather is nice that patio is killer stuff.
