Visited 8.5.16 at opening time. Quite a few beers on tap including interesting regional and local brews. No flights and if I remember correctly, also no half-pints. Food was OK. I do recall eating something vegan there - we ordered sandwiches.
Worth the visit.
Fun place to hangout across from U of K...went on the Tuesday afternoon after 4th of July...so it was pretty quiet (in fact I was the only customer in the bar area). The place is big...multi level...with a back deck type area and a large front patio...a fair amount of nice looking decorations on the walls...loved the steps named after hops. Definitely setup for maximum college student partying...but again...summertime on a weekday...it was quiet. The bartender was very personable and helpful. The pizza here is decent enough...being from NY metro area I’m pretty picky about pizza...but this was likely very good for the area. Pretty decent selection of craftbeers (47 on tap)...so a good place to eat and grab some beers if you aren’t hitting the local breweries. I can only imagine how mobbed this place gets when school is in session (again...it’s right across the street)...so factor the in to an potential visit plans...as well as parking.
My score may not truly reflect exactly how I felt about this place. Like others have said, parking, even at lunchtime was a real bitch. Good selection. Only had one beer, as I was here for lunch. Had a sub that was good, not great, but quite filling. If your in town, I would recommend as a lunch place, because it is so massive that I would think at night it must be a circus.
Right off of campus, made a perfect lunch stop. 47 taps(!) and a bottle list to boot. Taplist was pretty solid, included Uncle Jacobs, which was a want lister of mine not so long ago. Pizza was good, service was great. Winner.
I went here expecting a pizza parlor that carries some craft beers and found a serious and well equipped craft beer venue. Friendly if not attentive service.
47 taps and additional choices in bottles (even included Hopslam on my visit). Large and sprawling venue.

Visited later evening on a Thursday. I parked in the Pazzos parking lot behind the restaurant, and entered upstairs to the “Bourbon Bar / Patio”. This room had a small bar with 4 seats or so on each side, with a few tables scattered around. Inside the restaurant is more traditional booth seating, and there appeared to be at least two others bars / sections to this sprawling place. The beer menu featured 47 beers including Three Floyds Alpha King, Behemoth, Zombie Dust and Gumballhead. The rest of the list had a lot of quality as well. One feature of the beer menu was the use of a “BA” label to signify “very good, outstanding or world class beers”. Neat idea. I had an Alpha King and a meatball / banana pizza, and was well satisfied. Fun place.
76 = ★★★ (Worth the visit, must for locals, and visitors with time)
I only use the total score, not the component parts.
Located very near the UK campus in a typical college shopping type area. Street parking, and I can imagine parking is a bitch when it gets busier. Big, expansive place with three levels and multiple rooms. They have 47 taps and are quite proud of that. Some swill, but that’s to be expected so close to a college campus. Nothing out of this world, but some good stuff. I was sipping on a Pappy aged stout from a local brewery that was quite tasty, and Dark Horse Tres. I did not look at the bottle selection. One beer I tried to order was not available. Typical Italian pizza joint menu... some pizzas, subs, salads, etc. I had a barbecue chicken sub which was so-so. Chicken was overcooked and the barbecause sauce was too sweet, but on the other hand, bacon. My server was new so she made some mistakes, but she was very helpful and friendly. Prices were pretty solid. Overall, it was worth the stop.
Visited 7/21/2010 with my brother. It was very hot and very muggy out and I was sweating by the time we walked 2 blocks from the car to the bar. Went in on a Wednesday evening. 102F, 235% humidity.
This is a college bar. There was nowhere to sit so we stood at the bar and ordered a pizza and some drinks. Because we were at the bar we didnt have to wait in the line to get drinks but they didnt really make us a priority either. The service we did get though was helpful and friendly.
Lots of beer to pick from. We ordered the Kentucky Bourbon Ale and the Kentucky Ale. The glass was really cool and I want one but they wouldnt sell me one. The pizza was quite good too.
Prices were decent but a little high. I’d come back even in the middle of summer to check out the beer list and have some pizza.
Went here for dinner one night, there was a wait so we bellied up to the bar. Got really good service at the bar. Selection of beers on tap was really great, a lot were average but there was also some standouts like Breakfast Stout. Pizza was really good, awesome crust. Prices seemed really good too. This is a cool place to hang out, watch some sports, eat some pizza and drink some beer.
