Visited with the KC guys on their beer trip number 7. The people working there were nice and really knew a lot about their beer and the beer scene, especially in Iowa. We got a quick tour of the facilities, they pack a lot of production in a small area. They had one on tap that isnít a regular bottling. The beers are decent and all have a twist on the typical beers in the style. A small and clean brewpub. The prices on their bottles are comparable to the store prices in Des Moines. Certainly worth a stop if you are in the area, just make sure you check their hours as their time open is limited.

When you enter there are a number of tables around the building and a small bar in the back. Behind the bar is a window that you can see the brewery through. 1 big screen TV above the bar. They have some different decorations around (depending on the season) and are very community oriented. Has a nice, small, local bar feeling.
The tap list consists of their bottled selections as well as usually 1-4 draft only releases that tend to be seasonal beers. They also have their root beer and usually an orange soda or ginger ale on tap. They also sell their bottled beers and bottled root beer. They use proper glassware, they have snifters, pint glasses, stange/weizen, and some wine like glasses.
The service has always been great whenever I have gone there. They know the product well and are very helpful. They get a mix of macro drinkers and regulars (Iím sure a number they converted from macros). They get a lot of questions concerning macros (why they donít serve them and what is most like them) and they always are helpful to them. The waitstaff is happy to give you a sample if you ask for one. They also like to talk beer with customers (as well as other subjects). The full time staff will show you around the brewery in back, and if Joe, the brewer, is there he is willing to talk and show you around back there.
They donít have any food there, but they are have numbers for local food places that will deliver there. Pints of their regular offerings is $3.50, half pints for $2.00, and growler refills for $11 ($13 for first growler).
Great brewery with excellent staff. Very involved with the community and are about buying and supporting local businesses. Really great people that are really starting to bring a new outlook on beer in Iowa. New brewery that definitely has a bright future. Selection is a little limited now due to space restriction, but it sounds like in the future more beers will be available. I would definitely recommend stopping in if you are near the area, although at the moment the tap room is only open Thur. - Sat.

Really beautiful job of rebuilding an old downtown building into a brewery. A large tap room with full sized bar. No food service, but a few snacks. The brewer is a super nice guy who stopped his work to show us all over the brewery and let us geek out over his brand new brewing equipment. They make an effort here to use local products whenever possible. I sure hope that the local folks of Knoxville really appreciate whatís going on here.

A great place to visit! We met the brewer and he gave us a tour. Staff at thr tasting bar were helpful. Three regular beers and one seasonal on tap. Gracious and good-sized space. Tshirts, glasses, and beer for sale. They were selling local cheese the day we visited.
