Amazing place with a solid selection of house beers and guests. Service was top notch, even through the berliner weisse festival, which in itself was a spectacular event. Very chill place, like hanging out in someoneís garden and sharing a few beers. Food was delicious and very creative. Worth going well out of your way to try.
Funky house with a great vibe. Service was pretty good. Selection of beer was mostly from their son, which is pretty good. Food was fantastic, especially if you like heat, they donít hold back. Prices were good for the food you get. Overall, worth all the hype.
(Visited 07/2014): Pegís Cantina is located in a pretty little port town of Gulfport on Beach Blvd, very close to the water. Parking is available on the street in front.
The exterior has outdoor seating surrounded by trees and foliage. Inside, the space is relatively small with the bar on the left and a couple tables on the right. Pastel colored walls and a large chalk board behind the bar listing the available beers. Nice DIY touches in the wooden sample paddles and cardboard coasters.
Pegís has 11-12 beers on tap under the Cycle Brewing label. On my visit the list included Fixie Session IPA, Cycle Path IPL, a single hop Moteuka IPA, pepper Helles, Cream & Sugar Coffee Porter, Wheat Porter, Hashtag YOLO and Codename Shakefield "Florida Style Sour". The aforementioned samples are available in denominations of 4.
Service on a weekday evening at the bar was good. The bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable about the beers.
I did not have any food during my visit.
Overall this is a great (former?) brewpub in a quaint little gulf town. I would definitely visit here on future trips to FL.
Beautiful setting near the water, lots of outdoor seating and a great vibe. I would love to hang out here if I was a local. Food was pretty darn good as well. Downside, and apprently this is a bit unusual, was the beer. They only had about 6 taps when I was there, including some fairly mediocre Cycle offerings, none of which were anything special.
Very chill place on the small, quirky "downtown" part of Gulfport. Lots of bright colors, very chill, ultra relaxed area. Quiet, beautiful. Pegís is hidden inside a small forest and garden. Beautiful outdoor garden patio. Butterflies, birds, lizards. Bring mosquito repellant! Staff was quick, smart, kind, and knowledgeable. Food is outstanding. Delicious, spicy, fresh and bright. Inventive. Beers are world class. Amazing stouts, porters, IPAs, and Berliner Weisses. Definitely a must go to place in Florida for beer. Certainly worth the jaunt all the way out here.
A nice place if the weather is suitable for being outdoors. Not so much room indoors, and only the single bathroom for use. People liked the food Service was very friendly and attentive. No special seasonal, the beers were better than average, and the one novelty on was a high lactose beer. Gorgeous drive.
Cool, laid-back little restaurant/brewpub located just back from the beach. They didnít have a massive selection of beer when we visited, but everything tasted pretty great - particularly the lychee berliner! Server was very friendly and attentive. Food was rather delicious. A great place for both food and beer in St Pete area.
Easy to find location with street parking. Small bar in the middle with outdoor seating and tables. Small selection of their beers and guest beers. Friendly staff and good knowledge of beers. Wife and I had Chips and salsa and two main plates. Both where very good. Nice visit.
