I live about 20 miles away from PPB located in Pacific City. As you can see from the picture, it is the best view of any pub and/or brewery I have ever seen. My wife and I have gone there several times. Now I must explain the ratings that I gave. The ambiance is great due to the family stle atmosphere and the blues music being played via intercom. The service every time we have gone really sucked which is odd. I think they were too busy at the time and not enough servers or overbooking them. The selection of food was on par with the pubs on the coast. The food was good but in my opinion very expensive and the portions didnít match the price. Now I gave it an overall 20 for one reason and one reason only...the brews. They have some of the best craft brews and seasonals on tap and in the bottle. Their Scottish Style Ale is great. Do not miss this if you are on the Coast...It is a MUST stop.

Visited the amazing Pelican brewery for the second time this past week. Once again was I completely blown away by itís beauty. Located directly on the beach at Pacific City, right in front of Haystack Rock, you can sit down to enjoy damn near close to completely excellent food, while taking in numerous award winning Pelican beers. I was able to try the new "Brune" this time around, it definitely smelled like a familiar yeast strain (though they would not say what it was). Overall I am completely blown away by this place...being in the sun, drinking world class (mainly) American style beers...and OH YES, the Pelican IPA and Tsunami Stout...perfectly balanced brews. The one drawback - they just do not want to get any bigger, meaning, you can really only find their bottles in Oregon. Regardless, one of the best brewery experiences any of us beer geeks can ask for. Definitely worth the trip out to the coast!

Very nice place. Had the sampler which included some seasonals and totaled 8 samples. Awesome deal. I liked 6 of the 8 samples. The service was good and the food was above average pub fare. Perfect location.

This place has a great setting right on the beach. Wonderful ambiance. Friendly helpfull staff. Great service and some of the tastiest beers you will find anywhere. Can not comment on the food though, as we did not eat.

This Brewpub has the most enchanting view in the entire world. (Itís too bad they stole it from the state (Oregon owns the entire coastline, and they found the loophole!).) It was very neat and clean, family oriented. Kids playing in the sand, etc. Tried four different styles here. Food was excelent! Service was very slow. I timed our waitress just to be funny, 16 minutes just for one pint! They werenít too busy either. We asked for a tour... accourding to the sign. The response we recieved.............Were cleaning and weíve got hoses out on the floor. I traveled from Atlanta to Pelican City to get turned away. I was not impressed, except for the view.

I absolutely love this place and always look forward to coming here when I am on the coast. Wonderful scenery, great service, albeit some of the people here definitely have a better than you attitude, but the food is spectacular and so is the beer most of the time.

The Pelican Brew pub is awesome. The setting in Pacific city is one that I am sure many other ocean front Brew pubs wish they could replicate. With the view of Haystack rock and the grandeur of the sun setting on the ocean this is one of the best places to put a pub. The food was awesome. We had a mixture of appetizers along with a main course meal. There was so much food we had to take some home. We had the Stack of onion rings which are served with a sesame seed sauce that is to die for. The rest of the food was also just as good. We had some great service and when the beer arrives we got such a mixture for the sampler tray I about hit the floor with amazement. 8 samples on the tray and wow they where all so good. This is a not to miss place if ever on the coast in Northern Oregon. Darren make one killer beer and the food was not too far behind. I will be back for sure.

Stunning beachfront location, with a big rock on one side (in photo) and a cliff on the other. Waves crashing on the shore in a storm...awesome. Pelicanís beers are among the best in the Northwest. Didnít eat. They had a four-pack taster of their winter Barley Wine...wow. A little too slick for my tastes but it goes that way. The location and the beer is enough for me, though.

Wow, what a view!! This is a tough competition between Elliot Glacier and Pelican for best view. I guess it depends on whether you are a beach or mountain person. Had some decent biscuits and gravy along with a sampler platter of beer. They only serve their beers, luckily most are quite good. Clean.

Went hre to day to pick up a case of Tsunami Stout for a trade. So thought I would at least go in for a pint.
The place was very very busy for early Friday afternnon in the end of March, this place must be mobbed on a summer weekend.
Anyway the building itself is most impressive and blends well with the breathtaking scenery.
Inside the bar area is large with plenty seats and tables, very nicelly decorated, looks like cherry wood in the bar with a dark stain, nice lighting.
The beer selection was good and all Pelican ,not a macro in site, which seemed to bother the dork sitting next to me at the bar, bitchin about there being no Coors light.
Did not have any food but it looked gorgeous.
Only complaint was the service..one rushed bar person was not enough, maybe they got caught of guard by the hordes of people?
Nice place for a pint and just to stare out the large windows apon the lovellyscene with Haystack rock looming large..beautiful
