74 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 15/20 mnmike (31) Minnesota | March 5, 2013 Pretty good cousin to the Muddy Pig here. I’ve met coworkers here for an after work drink and it’s usually people there but not crowded. Big chalkboard full of offerings. | 82 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 XmnwildX12 (47) Farmington, Minnesota | June 23, 2012 Looked really nice inside and had a huge list of beers on tap. I went for the Founders special that included the KBS. Would definitely come back again for a couple beers. | 72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 15/20 ElGaucho (207) Minnetonka, Minnesota | February 18, 2012| Updated May 15, 2012 New note: Had the Ploughman’s Plate of cheeses, meats and veggies...outstanding! 2-18-12: Great to have a beer bar in this prime location. The place itself is pretty tiny, although I’ll reserve full judgement until they get their patio up and running during warmer weather. I like the old school dark wood interior. The beer selection was very good but short of knock your socks off good. My overall impressions that it’s "limited": limited space, limited seating, limited quantity of top notch taps. Get a few more limited availability beers on tap and the rest won’t matter. Definitely worth a visit. | 60 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 10/20 Atom (44) Minneapolis, Minnesota | January 21, 2012 Decent selection of beers. Aside from the Boom Island, nothing you can’t get anywhere else. Service didn’t seem to be on their game. Host stated 15-20 min. wait when the place was half empty. Certainly didn’t wait nearly that long but he seemed overwhelmed none the less. Waitress was rather inattentive, wasn’t all that busy when I first got there so I’m not sure what she was doing. Food is mainly European, Swiss, German, English, Polish, if that’s you’re thing. Expensive I’d say. I can’t see myself returning unless there was a special event or something I couldn’t get on tap elsewhere. | 62 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 12/20 ryanfolty (154) Minneapolis, Minnesota | January 20, 2012| Updated April 2, 2012 Stopped by after work today and met up with my boieee BVery and some others that have not seen the RateBeer light. Seemed like a nice enough location and the inside was very well done. Seemed maybe a little too trendy for me and not all about the beer, but hell maybe I was just having a bad day. Nice amount of taps, with some good local stuff, but nothing that blew my socks off. How do you have this many taps and don’t offer flights. Waitress said some garbage about no room for the glassware, blah blah blah. $6 a beer and up is not a steal by any means but I guess it could be worse....like paying $7 for a Coors Light in Vegas, still can’t believe I did that. | 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 15/20 BVery (323) Burnsville, Minnesota | October 17, 2011 Very nice new place in the 50th and France area of south Minneapolis. Beautiful inside - hardwood floors, high def TVs, and a darker decor. New but with character - tough to pull off. 36 taps, and the bottles are primarily Trappist / Belgians. No flights, which is disappointing. Food selection is smaller but centered around a chef. I had the burger (simplest and cheapest thing on the menu) and it was spectacular. Sister location to the great Muddy Pig of St. Paul. |
