Dedicated parking right in front. Big nice piggly wiggly supermarket. Limited service here. Interesting higher end beer here (jolly pumpkin, mikkeller, Evil Twin, etc.). Going rate pricing. I would go back.
I can totally see how this is the best place in Myrtle Beach. But even so, it’s disappointing. I came here largely for some Westbrook brews, but only found the super common ones (I picked up a sixer of their IPA). For a grocery store, they have a nice little selection of craft brews. But it’s no specialty bottleshop, and nothing you shouldn’t be able to find in any of several bottle shops in the greater (non Myrtle Beach) area. I’d head back if I’m in the area, but wouldn’t make a special trip.
They have a very nice selection for a supermarket. They have dogfish, Bells, Evil twin, Anchor, Southern Tier, and a nice group of Belgium’s. The market itself is very clean with lots of high end foods. Nicest place in the Myrtle beach area. Not one person in the beer area and the check out people had no idea when I asked about what other beers are normally available.
Rating from April 2011. This is really the only good place to get craft beer in Myrtle Beach from a store. There are a few others, but none with this selection, prices, and of course the growler fills are nice also.
Byrd’s Beer at the Pig: The best place in Myrtle Beach to find quality beer and craft brews. They have an excellent selection and a nice variety. They have the beer you won’t find anywhere else in town. Typical six-packs and four-packs, as well as individual bottles and even a Growler Station.
Assistance is readily available, if needed, but these guys will let you browse without breathing down your neck. And honestly, with the variety they have, you’re going to need time to look. Get the BeerBuddy app (powered by RateBeer) to help make your selection!
Excellent layout and appearance - the theme of the beer section blends in with the upscale look of this particular grocery store.
Visited this place twice over the 3 days I was at the beach. Great selection from all around, limited mix-a-six, rotating taps for 32 and 64 oz growler fills. Friendly, knowledgeable beer-specific staff. Lots of stuff I was surprised to see sitting on the shelves and prices were very, very reasonable.
