People tend to forget that if it was not for Charles Finkel & Michael Jackson, the craft brewing industry would NOT be what it is now. Do not degredate anyone who has reached a level of success- (as I see some doing here in their ratings & comments) I would love to know that a TRUE craft beer touched the lives of many souls! A votre’ sante!
Visited here in mid August ’16 while in town for vacation. Funky, multi-tiered, multi-roomed pub with loads of old beer memorabilia hanging everywhere. Have a large selection of their beers on tap, all of their regulars with a few one-offs and seasonals. Good place to stop in while perusing the Pike Place Market.
Certainly a tourist heavy place, but the kitsch and pieces of flair addorning the walls don’t distact from the beers, and probably add to them because this place is just overwhelmingly full of stuff. It’s like a brewery set up inside a flea market museum. Staff is quite friendly, which is probably a perk for being in the tourist area, as does having a bunch of straightforward easy and accessible beers, but there’s a couple unique things as well. The music of my teenage years plays over the sound system, a mix of 90s grunge and alt rock. Not the greatest beer around, and solely for beer there’s Cloudburst a few blocks away. But the atmosphere in here, full of locals and a ton of tourists, a load of stuff on the walls, is definitely worth stopping in to experience. Neat space, and in an area you’ll want to visit anyway if you’re from out of town.
Stopped in on a Thursday for lunch. About 14?beers on tap. Solid selection, beers were mediocre to quite good. Split a couple flights and had the Mac and cheese and nachos. Nothing mind blowing food wise but was solid.
Really an awesom atmosphere. Very unique. Would recommend just for the atmosphere and shit on the walls.
