This place is as good as the time that you show up. if you are there at 7pm, its going to be a shit show, if you go at 4pm, its going to be a ghost town and you’ll have your run of the place. They have a ton of taps, supporting tons of other craft and import taps, and they are putting out some of the best PP beers out of this location (cho saiko is amazing).

Not that big of a place, but it wasn’t very crowded on a weekday lunch time visit. Loads of their house beers and some guest beers on tap. Their hoppy beers were awesome. Tasty pizza available as well. Be sure to visit at least one Pizza Port location when in San Diego. The location in Carlsbad had perhaps slightly better guest beers and house beers on tap, but this one was still definitely worth a visit.

Visited for dinner. Obviously famous for its pizza but the place is built like a brew pub/outdoor bbq. The seating is in beach tables and benches. Somewhat of a pain if any of your friends wear dresses as the benches are connected to the table. As for service, the food is mostly self-serve with your name called out to pick up the food. The beer is good and the staff very friendly. (Thanks for the sample of Get wet!) Otherwise, the place could be slightly cleaner and air conditioning running slightly cooler (if they have one).

A typical Port layout but seemed to have the best selection of the three I have been to. Usual good pizza with counter service

So I was on a mission to visit as many San Diego breweries as I could this week, and what I realized after 30+ breweries, many of them newer ones, was that the Pizza Ports are still making some of the best beer in the area and the places are still some of the funnest to visit. This one may be in my top two. Just a few blocks from the ocean, the location is awesome. Nice quaint community of Ocean Beach. Lots of other restaurants, and yes, beer joints nearby. The place was packed when I got there on a Monday afternoon, but the service was awesome. They got me a bunch of tasters without hesitation. Like the other PP’s, you can sit at a very small bar with a view of the brewing equipment or at a bunch of community tables in the center. There’s also a patio/porch to sit outside. Everything was open with a lot of natural light coming in. Of course, the beer was great. Awesome hoppy beers and an amazing Imperial Stout on tap. They had a good amount of quality guest taps as well. I struck up a conversation with a local beer geek sitting next to me which enhanced the overall experience. The pizza was good. I would highly recommend visiting this place even if you’ve already been to the other places.

Fun place to come. Lots of seating with a self serve for at that works really well. Tons of tap beers that are pretty good. The pizza is awesome if a little pricy. Overall i enjoyed my time here quite a bit.

A smaller Pizza Port location with the bar immediately to your left and picnic tables to your right. The service was spotty and it took a while to get beers. I did not try the food but I did enjoy some tasty beers.

Un must.

Noisy place, long time waitng to order. If you are a European, you will find the food really bad, it is like all American fast foods. Although the taps are great, you can find Pizza Port’s beers, and some others which are hosted.
