86 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 4/10 OVERALL 17/20 giorgos (4) , | June 29, 2012| Updated September 8, 2012 in my opinion it is the most cozy bar of the town. big variety of beers however for a really selective beer lover it would be just another cool pub and nothing really special (limited menu for a pro!). the prices are a bit high .. the food is really good. proper glasses and qualified stuff(the ones on the bar). cool and cozy place to have your beers and the decoration is amazing | 68 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 6/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 16/20 Jimmythespoon (68) , Cyprus | November 26, 2011| Updated September 8, 2012 One of the best bars in Nicosia. Set in an old mansion and not very obvious from the outside. All wood panelled with great traditional deco. Selection is mostly beglium and never changes so can get a bit boring. Thgey do have Vedett Blonde and White on tap though. Definitely not the cheapest place to drink in Nicosia. | 74 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 4/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 christilef (3) Ontario | July 10, 2011| Updated September 8, 2012 I was thoroughly impressed with the way they have decorated the place. Service at the bar is alright, but so far I’ve been unimpressed by the servers... it may have been an isolated incident, but my experience with waiting for a table outdoors and being acknowledged when I have an order left much room for improvement. I would still go back and just opt for sitting at the bar. | 80 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 greenclansman (56) Nicosia, Cyprus | March 24, 2011| Updated September 8, 2012 One of my favourite places in town. Amazing atmosphere and great decoration. Big selection on beers, but it is kind of expensive. Great food.
If you have the money to spend, then it could be your own spot to chill out. | 68 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 14/20 Beershine (606) The Sunshine State, Florida | March 16, 2011| Updated September 8, 2012 Great place, truly beautiful. Would be a cool place to drink even if the beer list wasn’t good. But it is good, as long as you can afford it. Food is outrageously priced, didn’t eat here but the most attractive part of the place is the restaurant. Would be equally at home in New York or anywhere else, is a genuine urban bar/restaurant. Note: The Trappists are in poor shape so save your money--it’s a Cyprus thing, I think, maybe not stored well during transport :( | 72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 14/20 Oakes (612) Savusavu, Fiji Islands | February 24, 2011| Updated March 5, 2011 Old town Nicosia isn’t a very touristy place as Cyprus goes, it’s a good place to see Cypriots on the town. Plato’s is in a big house with nice tile floors and lots of wood. The beer selection is solid, although some are a bit old. Free popcorn! Love that. The menu looked pricey and the beer wasn’t cheap either. Good Belgian list in particular. Nice vibe - the only serious beer bar in Cyprus and it was really nice to see all the local ordering up Belgians in the proper glassware. OH - nothing to do with Plato’s but around the corner there’s an African store that carries Nigerian FES. There aren’t many good stouts on Cyprus so I recommend taking advantage of that resource. OH YEAH - it opens at 8pm so no point in getting there early. | 74 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 4/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 ronkoeck (1) , Belgium | January 31, 2011| Updated March 5, 2011 No shorts, no tourists, excellent music, excellent setting in old town of Nicosia |
