Charming thatched cottage Fullers-tied pub that we discovered whilst walking the Icknield Way. Inside itís oak-beamed, low ceilinged with a log fire - a real traditional homely pub. Thereís a conservatory for dining, and pleasant gardens front and back (thereís also childrenís play equipment out back). Both the staf and the local are very friendly indeed. Regular cask ales (£2.90 a pint, which isnít bad for the area) are London Pride, Fullers ESB & Gales HSB. There are two rotating guest ales - Adnams The Bitter and Ossett Black Bull when we were there. They serve traditional pub grub, although we didnít try this ourselves. Lovely place, would recommend it.
