Hard to rate this place. We took the brewery tour, which was very informing and certainly recommended. The unfiltered pilsner from draught is mind blowing. The souvenir shop is very modest. Wort a stop if you’re eurotripping.

Really good brewery tour of a place with a proud history in the beer world. Well organised, value for money experience. Highly recommended. Bonus: you get to try young Pilsner Urquell straight from the barrel at the old cellars!

Brewery tap in the restaurant by large brewery. They also provide brewery excursions, have souvenir shop, etc.

Decent brewery tour, really fun to visit all the cellars and seeing the old brewery. Sucks that all you learn are cold sad facts about how they made changes that removed all of Pilsner Urquell’s character over the years... The beer at the end kind of cheers you up though, and for 10$, it’s worth it.

A nice place with a great history. Of course a great beer at the end of the tour. But to me, drinking beer is always more interesting than watching the process of making beer. Nothing wrong with the tour, though.

It was very cool to visit this place. They take you into underground caves that are massively expansive. Tunnels upon tunnels. They let you taste the beer straight from a barrel, which is a highlight. Not a bad train ride from Prague. If you are in Prague and you like beer, you should go to Plzen and check it out.

Great tour in a beautiful old historic brewery. This is the place that popularized and really commercialized the cold filtered pilsner beer style...although they didn’t invent it...make no mistake...we drink this beautiful beer and all it’s worldwide derivitives because of Pilsner Urquell. I love the train (Pilsner Express)...too bad they couldn’t pull it out of the covered area with a tow vehicle just so the tourists can take pictures...its too hidden away for that now and the shadows make it hard to take a good picture. The lighthouse style old water tank is cool...as well as the 50th anniversary gate that’s in the red seal of every label. As others have said though...yes the tour is great...but the star is walking the old naturally cold tunnels...seeing the open top cold fermenting barrels...& finally drinking the unpastuerized & unfiltered beerstraight from the huge wooden barrels...beer made exactly the way they did almost 200 year ago...and available this way only to the tours and special on site events. Get the large plastic cup...lol! Note...food in the restaurant is decent...most of their beers are served here too. This is a must stop for any beer lover...easy day trip from Prague...or on a drive either way between Prague & Munich (and you get to pass all the hop farms too).

I went on the brewery tour and it was amazing. The tour guide had above average knowledge about everything she talked about and also gave people time to just walk around and enjoy the different parts of the brewery. Like another user said already, the bottling process here is fascinating. The shop had a lot of cool items and for a decent price. Definitely worth the visit.
