Once you find it (because it’s quite difficult to spot the place) you can be sure to taste interesting beers. My overall impression was not great but if you don’t have high expectations it’s just fine.

Wow, this is an original place. The entrance door (if we can call it an entrance door) is not easy to spot because the bar is actually a basement, almost underground. The interior is surreal. I have never been in beer with a cavernous setting like this one. Warm, inviting, yet dark and almost creepy, full of memorabilia, a gramophone here, scary puppets there, old bottles everywhere, bunch of old stuff. Furniture is from another era completely. A baby foot table. Surprisingly for a Bruges bar, this one seems to be attracting mostly locals. Not a touristy place it appears. Beer list is nothing to brag about. Limited tap-list (4 of them) with only Taras Boulba that was interesting. Typical Belgian Flemish bottle list. Plenty of quality beers but nothing for the beer hunter. However this is not the place to discover a beer and certainly not to rate one. Here you want to discover the place, not the beer, so you sit down with a personal favorite (in my case Orval in proper glassware) and just look around in amazement. A unique place. I highly recommend going there early to be in an empty bar and really get the full effect of this unique place.

Nice cellar location, although I always bang my head when leaving. Decent selection and prices on the lower side for central Bruges. Might be a bit dingy for some, but I like it.

When you reach the entrance it looks like you have to step in a buildings basement.From inside now is really beautiful place like a medieval celar,carpets on the floor and low lights.Good beer list with some really special Belgians and taps for every kind of belgian beer.Must visit place if you are in Brugge.

Noisy, smelly cellarpub. Filled with teenagers. No service here! Proper beerlist though...

A shadow of its former self. Slight sewer odor(!) upon entry. Can’t say service was bad, there wasn’t any! We were greeted with a firm "yes?". And we were a party of 6, I had to go to the bar and back 3 times. No table service and no knowlage on beers. Average age must have been 17. There’s also something messed up with acoustics here, couldn’t hear myself think and I thought WE were loud. Good beermenu is the only plus for me.

Visited September 2012. Best. Entrance. Ever. Seriously. A very cosy place, maybe a bit quiet on a Sunday evening, but probably (hopefully!) crowded on Friday and Saturday evenings. It’s located in an old medieval cellar, that is surprisingly big and very atmospheric. Beer list is not very big, but they have some really nice Belgian gems on it. A few things on draft as well. If I were living in Brugge, I think I’d make this my local hang out.

Maybe it’s something about this street, because like Comptoir opposite, it used to be a much better bar. Now very popular with a younger (noisier) crowd, the atmosphere can be unbearable at times & the service & beer selection has suffered. Very much quantity over quality nowadays.

Tends to be reaaly busy & popular with the younger crowd these days, and staff more interested in serving friends & regulars.

Used to be a great late bar but now tends to be rammed and noisy. Staff not very friendly and no table service when busy.
