A great reasonably-priced Italian restaurant in Newport that part of Rainman was filmed at. Not a great beer selection, but the service is good, and the food and value are awesome (get the sampler platter!). Definitely worth a stop!

Pompilio’s is a mixed bag - in the original restaurant, it is everything you’d expect in a neighborhood Italian place (10); in the newer addition, the ambiance isn’t as effective. The beer list is mostly big box with the addition of Peroni and Moretti, and the new Wiedemann’s on tap. Overall, great for food and ambiance, limits on the beer. UPDATE 5/8/14 - The beer list has been greatly extended with 12 taps, 20 craft bottles, 10 National big guys. Same great food, good service, and better brews

Wobbly table and it resulted in two spilled drinks. This is a place with a rich history, but that’s about it. Service was cold as was the food. Building could use a facelift. Place offers four local beers (bottles only), many lagers, and a Great Lakes among other macro brews. Not impressed with anything here.
